The successful candidate will play a critical role within the Strategy and Digital Transformation team, responsible for providing delivery capability and thought leadership in driving the end-to-end delivery of Risk & CFCR initiatives and AI driven solutions for business advisory specifically as a Strategy and Transformation Lead. This role requires a strategic mindset, the ability to convert a concept into tangible solutions, manage risks and ensure alignment with business goals and priorities.  

 

Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an agile environment is critical, the role holder will be expected to bring agile planning, business analysis, engagement and delivery leadership capabilities while working flexibly with business leaders, technology and the wider Risk & CFCR functions. Therefore, prior experience in similar initiatives and working environment is paramount.

 

The responsibilities include, working across CFCR, Risk, T&O, AI Specialist teams to: 

•    Translate high level goals and strategy into actionable deliverables to meet business objectives and compliance requirements
•    Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of transformational outcomes for Risk & CFCR on the Bank’s strategic platform (e.g. ServiceBench), including a central repository for permissions and waivers to support the Bank’s cross border strategy.
•    Convert compliance and risk automation needs into practical AI driven solution, focusing on scalability and configurability
•    Support the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exercises for AI/LLM technologies, track progress, evaluate outcomes and ensure successful development of AI solution
•    Engage with stakeholders across CFCR, Risk, AI/Data teams to facilitate initiatives involving AI capabilities, ensure tooling solution align with Risk & CFCR strategy and address critical efficiency needs
•    Identify, assess and manage delivery related risks, issues and dependencies
•    Collaborate with various initiative level workstreams to align delivery and manage inter dependencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Translate high-level goals and strategy into actionable project deliverables.
•    Engage with stakeholders across CFCR, Risk, AI/Data teams to facilitate initiatives involving AI capabilities, ensure tooling solution is practical and align with Risk & CFCR strategy and address critical efficiency needs, focusing on scalability and configurability.

 

Business

•    Create product backlog and prioritize features development to deliver maximum value to business stakeholders.
•    Identify risks and issues early, plan mitigating steps and communicate these to stakeholders in a timely manner.
•    Accountable for ongoing stakeholder engagement to ensure that all project scope decisions are understood and agreed to and that all their needs are met.
•    Execute high standards of regulatory compliance and deliver key priorities and initiatives, aligned to the efficiency goals. 
•    Realise synergies and efficiencies and ensure consistency in delivery of outcomes wherever possible
•    Identify opportunities to leverage AI/LLM driven technologies in providing business values, enhanced decision-making and drive process automation. 
•    Support the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exercises, track progress, evaluate outcomes and ensure successful development of AI solution
•    Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all CFCR Product & Professional Services colleagues, CFCR Coverage & Specialist and Risk Teams that is based on trust, capability and integrity, understanding efficiency needs, identify challenges.

Processes
•    Adopt an agile planning and rapid opportunity assessment framework to quickly identify and analyse opportunities and process related pain-points that, if resolved, would give rise to more effective and efficient risk management 
•    Run and fully adhere to all agreed governance (e.g. committees, LuW forum, change risk assessments) and other routines (regular meetings, attendance at other forums) 
•    Partner with technology stakeholders to develop project plans, ensure that all relevant development and testing activities are efficiently scheduled and regularly tracked against the delivery timeline.
•    Support development of the target state transition approach, including development of rollout plan, pre / post implementation activities in conjunction with Technology teams and support the creation of training materials and facilitate training sessions
•    Support change management activities and ensure that project is managed in accordance with the bank’s change and project management standards.
•    Ensure AI capabilities are designed to ensure transparency and traceability for LLM driven decision making and integrate human-in loop, where required, based on agreed and established risk appetite. 
•    Continuously improve and calibrate the AI models, approaches, practices and methodologies

 

Risk Management

•    Proactively identify, escalate, and address risks in collaboration with the stakeholders.
•    Ensure effective risk mitigation plans are in place and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Ensure that all AI solutions adhere to internal risk management framework.
•    Ensure compliance with the Group’s risk management policies and frameworks.

 

Governance

•    Ensure all projects comply with internal standards and frameworks under the Change Management Standards.
•    Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support audit and governance requirements.
•    Ensure all relevant approvals are obtained before implementing AI capabilities and model monitoring for AI capabilities are managed in accordance with internal governance requirements
•    Build in the identification and escalation feature for potential model risks and issues to senior management through appropriate governance channels and the Quality Assurance framework.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

•    Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the SDT team lead from time to time.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 
•    Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org or other associations is desirable

•    12+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Institution or Regulator or Fintech or equivalent industry including 8+ years of experience as Product Owner or similar roles in Change and Transformation function, with proven expertise in Compliance & Risk deliveries.
•    Comprehensive understanding of Risk & CFCR functions.
•    Understanding of AI, ML and LLM technologies, with ability to assess opportunities in providing business value, enhanced decision-making and drive process automation.
•    Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and ensure successful project delivery. 
•    Strong understanding of change management, project management and delivery governance
•    Strategic mindset with strong problem solving and superior ability to manage, manipulate and analyse data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear terms for diverse stakeholders.
