Title: Programme Manager, Private Banking

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Programme seeks to setup a Private banking booking centre in new market as part of Private banking strategy. The role of the PM is to lead the successful delivery of the setup of the booking centre and support the Programme Director and the Accountable Executives in the following:
• Manage the entire end to end implementation plan for successfully delivering the objectives of setting up a PvB Booking centre in a new market including milestones, costs, benefits outlined in the Investment Proposal.
• Develop the end to end implementation plan interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders understanding the complexities and dependencies of the new market requirements both from a legal and regulatory framework.
• Identify dependencies and risks with appropriate mitigating actions so as these are acted upon promptly
• Ensuring programme risks are appropriately managed, overseeing mitigation and resolution of risks and issues which may impair delivery, escalating unresolved risks/issues
• Seeking to maximise benefits and identifying new unforeseen benefits within Programme
• Ensure business case submission to approving bodies internally as required to secure funding for delivery of the programme.
• Establishing a diligent and effective Programme Steering group and Working group with appropriate membership
• Preparation and presentation of papers for the Programme governance meetings in accordance to Project management standards
• Transitioning and handing over to BAU, securing their sign off before Programme closure.
• Owning the review of Benefits over the lifecycle
• When requested, presenting the Programme Closure report to the RF before the Programme is closed
• Ensuring that PIRs are completed adequately.
Strategy
• Supports driving the strategy and vision for the Programme.
• Bring together stakeholders across all functions and CIB to complement and work together for a seamless delivery of the programme.
• Anticipate, provide and deliver solutions to complex strategic questions, and manage numerous senior internal stakeholders within the Group.
• Where specific subject matter expertise is required, bring together and facilitate the optimal outcome for the Group and communicate it in a clear and compelling way to key stakeholders.
• Manage the strategic communications across the Group up to Management Team and, in some cases, Board level.
• Preparation of Regulatory materials for updates and providing those updates to the relevant regulators as required.
Business
• Manage relationships with WRB MT level business and functional stakeholders on related projects, collaborating closely with them and their teams.
• Work closely with Private Banking and Wealth management businesses to ensure client requirements (both servicing and products) are made available as part of the delivery of the programme.
• Proactively promote and communicate relevant project narrative across key stakeholders including regional management and support functions as required.
Processes
• Provide end-to-end PMO support for the Programme and responsible projects.
• Drive the timeline for these projects - ensure all responsible parties across the streams delivers according to the agreed timeline for each phase.
• Work closely with CIB who are setting up the representative office and functional leads to ensure effective communications.
• Drive programme and project agendas and documentation, available for regulatory inspection if required.
• Ensure good programme governance through programme / project disciplines, oversight committees and correct documentation of programme plans, approaches and documentation (as outlined in the Bank’s Programme Governance Policy and Project Management Standards).
People and Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people
Risk Management
• Identify, escalate, and resolve issues that have the potential to hinder or delay the implementation of the required steps under the Programme.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts arising under the Programme. Work with various stream leads to ensure inter-dependencies are appropriately considered and managed.
Governance
• Establish an appropriate project framework to manage project spends.
• Provide oversight and assist the AE in management of budget/ spend decisions to ensure programme is delivered within approved costs.
• Deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work in an open and cooperative manner.
• Manage audits and assurance reviews, both internal and external.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Degree qualified with at least 10 years in banking, specifically with Private Banking experience.
• Highly strategic, consultative and solution oriented with the ability to assess and understand SC business & organisational issues/requirements.
• Strong execution capability, high discipline with excellent project management skills
• Strong relationship management skills. Strong ability to manage and effectively influence multiple stakeholders including senior management
• Strong analytical capability
• Very strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills i.e. PowerPoint, Excel
• Strong team orientation. Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural, cross-geographical, matrix environments
