JOB SUMMARY
We are looking to expand our in-house quantum computing capabilities within the Data Science & Innovation
team at Standard Chartered. We are looking for someone with a curious mind and experience with classical and
quantum machine learning methods to contribute to our diverse and international team. The role responsibilities
are as follows:
• Develop and execute innovative quantum machine learning techniques to solve a range of financial services use cases.
• Work with universities / research organisations on collaborative engagements that create patentable deliverables for the bank.
• Work with governments and regulators in our footprint markets to lead the financial services industry in the journey to quantum advantage.
• Understand and apply state of the art GenAI techniques to address business challenges
• Translate AI concepts into practical code examples and provide accessible sample workbooks for wider team use
• Seek and acquire new AI knowledge and share with the rest of SCB data science community
Looking for candidates who are intellectually curious, analytical and willing to learn, with a STEM background in
mathematics, engineering, the physical sciences or data science in the form of PhD or MS. Hands-on experience in quantum computing and machine learning is highly desirable

Our Ideal Candidate
- Education - STEM background in mathematics, engineering, the physical sciences or data science in the form of PhD or MS in Quantum Computing.
- Advanced education in Quantum computing and/or Quantum machine learning, preferably with a PhD.
- 3 + Years of experience in Predictive models and Quantum machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with quantum circuit optimisation methods and tools.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Financial mathematics
