 Senior Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager, Multi-Asset & Equities

The Bespoke Mandates team (Multi-Asset & Equities) is looking to add one portfolio manager to respond to the fast-growing traction for our bespoke mandates. The role focuses on managing and implementing customized discretionary client portfolios. The ideal candidate should possess a robust portfolio management mindset with hands-on equity/multi-asset portfolio management experience from a Private Bank or Asset Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Management
•    Develop and manage bespoke multi-asset and equity-focused investment strategies for UHNW/Family Office/HNW clients, aligned with the client’s objectives and risk tolerance, the bank’s investment strategy and risk/compliance guidelines.
•    Monitor investment universe and conduct fundamental research to identify investment opportunities with a focus on equities. 
•    Ensure meticulous portfolio construction and seamless end-to-end implementation.
•    Assist in risk management by monitoring existing positions and recommending adjustments based on updated research and market developments to ensure alignment with risk parameters and the bank’s CIO houseview.
•    Actively contribute to the CIO Global Investment Committee, shaping the house view and influencing the broader investment strategy.

Sales & Marketing
•    Support sales efforts by working with relationship managers and investment advisors to prepare and deliver client pitches and portfolio reviews.   
•    Craft and manage forward-looking analyses, delivering insightful commentary on portfolio performance and risk factors.
•    Develop and refine marketing collaterals that align with internal standards and regulatory compliance.

 

Product Management
•    Support business development activities to enhance our investment platform and capabilities
•    Ensure diligent adherence to SCB stated policies, contributing significantly to investment, risk, and governance processes.
•    Exhibit a strong attention to detail and a willingness to participate in governance meetings and performance attribution discussions.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    Proven track record in portfolio management with minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience. Expertise in equity analysis is required, ideally with global equity and sector agnostic experience. 
•    Deep understanding of financial markets, equities research, investment analysis, and asset allocation. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques. 
•    Familiarity with Bloomberg. Excel is a must. Data analysis and programming skills are an advantage.  
•    Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
•    Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•    Self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual with demonstrated ability to work in a small team with high team player spirit. Have a hands-on and “can-do” attitude.       
•    Strong English communication is a must; Mandarin is an advantage
•    Demonstrated commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in investment management.
