Job Summary

Global Trading Operations (GTO) is a global team supporting the Markets business providing solutions for foreign exchange, rates, commodities, credit, and prime services products. We are differentiated by our unique footprint in Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and US and support a number of client sectors including banks, investors, intermediaries, fund managers, insurance companies and corporates.

 

As the Singapore Lead for Global Markets Operations - Country Operation, core responsibilities include support the effective and efficient running of Market activities related to Singapore Franchise. Core Responsibilities include 
•    Support implementation of strategic change and new business opportunities 
•    Lower our Risk profile 
•    Enhance client Experience 
•    Manage regulatory and statutory audits
•    Manage key Country stakeholders 
•    Manage Cost and Improve Efficiency

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Proactively engage and partner with our clients, business and across functions to enable solutions and booking models that help differentiate and accelerate income growth and new businesses enablement.  
•    Focus our improvement efforts on operational capabilities, reduce manual interventions and move towards digitization.
Business
•    Responsible for assisting core business and performance deliverables for Global Markets Operations Singapore activities, revenue enabler for new business growth. 
Processes
•    Governance of risk issues and incidents, control exceptions as Country Process Owner.
•    Governance of outsourcing activities and key partners supporting Global Markets Operations Singapore operation to ensure KPI are met. 
•    Collateral with business, finance, middle offices and market operations on new business initiatives, review impact analysis and ensure operational ready to support business on Day 1. 
•    Responsible to ensure regulatory reports are duly completed and submitted timely and accurately. Any reporting errors are escalated and ensure remediation plans are tracked closely with timely updates provided to regulator. 
•    Support the growth of team development, incorporating group strategy into BAU to support business growth. 
•    Responsible for the management and implementation of ad hoc projects impacting Singapore business.  
Risk Management
•    Work with global and functional teams to ensure Adherence to the regulatory/compliance/Risk and control requirement 
•    Ability to identify and escalate key issues in BAU activities and work with stakeholders to define actions plans to mitigate and track resolution where required.

Governance
•    The job holder will be supporting the product governance activities that cover the PPG / CA process, unit operations incident management, annual due diligence, Dept Outsourcing Management over GBS, HK and SG hubs

•    Be up to date and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience in the operations function as a team manager/team leader.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets, derivatives (flow and structured), financing products and understanding of products front to back operation process.
  • Possesses an analytical mindset along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently communicate with various stakeholders
  • Provide independent challenge and drive management actions at senior level to deliver targeted outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork with internal and external groups. Introduce and implement new controls and process changes required to support the transformation initiative.
  • Thrive on working in fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven problem solver using quantitative techniques, strong analytical skills with ability to develop proof of concept frameworks and business cases.
  • Fast learner with the ability to think out of the box and provide solutions.
  • Strong risk mindset, governance capabilities and proven control awareness
