Role Responsibilities

  • Pre-process & verify trade transactions according to the individual delegated authority, laid down procedures and standard of service
  • Understand fully the Service Level Agreement (SLA) Offered to customers Signed between the Country Trade Operations and Global Business Services (GBS), giving full support to achieving it.
  • To ensure all trade transactions are accurately processed (by GBS) / verified in accordance with the customers’ instructions and according to the bank’s operational instructions, procedures and policies and neither the customer nor the Bank is at risk.
  • To maintain all quality standards to ensure customers total needs are met and that continued effort is made to exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Understand the risks associated with Products Processing and ensure that they are minimized.
  • Ensure full awareness of the responsibilities for Trade Policies, Group Policies / GDOI relating to Operations matters
  • Observe and analyze workflows to identify system disruptions that impact turnaround time and initiate actions to resolve.
  • Responsible for escalation of tier 2 client transactions from GBS & Country Business Teams. Take ownership of escalated items through to resolution.
  • To provide subject matter expertise to Client Operations team for Tier 1 clients including direct interaction with clients and internal teams as required.
  • Responsible for Policy and Procedure Management across Trade Operations including:
    • Generic Product Program and Country Product Addendum
    • Group DOI & circulars.
    • Country DOI’s.
    • Sanctions policy & procedures 

  • Exercise governance for tier 2 clients to ensure overall service standards are met for transactions and enquires which are undertaken in GBS Trade Operations
  • Guidance on subject matter in case of referral from Branches and GBS processing teams and liaise with stakeholders and Group Product Owner.
  • Provide support on any regular and ad hoc tasks related to unit operational risk management assigned by BRM from time to time
  • Support and assist Head, Product Operations Open Account to ensure an adequate Business Continuity Management (“BCM”) plan is in place across the business, to facilitate continuity of critical business operations in the event of significant business interruption.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in one or more Trade Finance products such as Import / export LCs, Guarantees and Open Accounts, etc
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use common MS Office applications.
