Job Description: 

Job Summary

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for the commercial oversight, performance management, and risk governance of the Bank’s third party ecosystem.

The SCM Global Technology team is seeking an experienced technology leader with the seniority and credibility to operate at executive level across Technology & Operations, while leading strategic, value based relationships with the Bank’s most strategic technology suppliers. The role is accountable for driving strategic alignment, commercial outcomes, and long term partnerships that support business resilience, innovation, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

•    Act as the primary executive point of contact for designated Technology Strategic Suppliers, maintaining strong, collaborative, and value based relationships.
•    Oversee the appointment of Strategic Suppliers working with Senior Technology members (or Governance Board) and appointed Executive Sponsors.
•    Define and execute enterprise strategies for Technology Strategic Suppliers aligned to business objectives, demand management, and contractual obligations
•    Lead joint business planning, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
•    Identify opportunities to deepen strategic partnerships through innovation, co investment, and growth enabling initiatives. 

 

Performance Management and Optimization:

•    Establish, monitor, and report supplier KPIs, scorecards, and service performance against agreed outcomes for Strategic Suppliers, working closely with the Contract Management Services team, Contract Owners and Executive Sponsors.
•    Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for significant relationship performance or service issues. 
•    Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and supply chain efficiency initiatives. 
•    Own contractual compliance and commercial governance across all designated Strategic Technology Suppliers, ensuring value, risk, and service outcomes are actively managed end to end. 
•    Oversee sustainability and Diversity and Inclusion objectives and reporting with Strategic Suppliers.

Risk Management:

•    Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain, operational, geopolitical, and market risks. 
•    Ensure contingency and business continuity plans are in place for Material Contacts that are under a Strategic Supplier. 
•    Ensure full compliance with the Bank’s Third Party Risk Management framework 
•    Exercise senior judgement in identifying, escalating, and mitigating material third party risks, ensuring alignment between regulatory obligations, service resilience, and commercial outcomes.
•    Maintain high standards of data quality across Strategic Supplier metadata. 
•    Support delivery of regulatory and audit obligations related to the Strategic Supplier portfolio.

 

People and Talent

•    Act as a subject matter expert on strategic suppliers, technology, markets, and supply dynamics. 
•    Provide direction, coaching, and oversight to Technology Supplier Strategic Supplier Managers (SSRM), ensuring consistent application of supplier management frameworks. 
•    Foster strong collaboration between technology, business/function, and Supply Chain Management teams. 
•    Build and embed a high performing Strategic Supplier Management capability and team, developing talent with strong commercial judgement, executive presence, and regulatory awareness.
•    Matrix manages the Technology Supplier Managers to ensue alignment on process and adherence to Strategic Supplier Framework (this will become a direct reporting line 6-12 months post appointment)

•    Education: Degree Or Equivalent Qualifications
•    Membership: CIPS or Similar    
•   
10+ years’ experience in senior supply chain, technology, procurement, or supplier management roles, preferably within technology or financial services. 
•    Proven experience operating in large, complex, multinational organisations. 
•    Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to deliver measurable business value. 
•    Demonstrated ability to lead teams across multiple geographies and cultures. 
•    Executive level communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. 
•    Deep understanding of technology categories and global supply markets. 
•    Strong alignment to organisational values and ethical standards
•    Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills, at all levels of the organisation and into supplier organisations
•    A clear commitment to Standard Chartered values and the ability to incorporate those into all aspects of corporate life
•    Self-motivated and confident with the enthusiasm and determination to succeed
