Job Summary

Supply Chain Management (SCM) provides commercial oversight, performance management, and risk governance across the Bank’s global third party ecosystem.

The Strategic Supplier Relationship Manager (Technology) is accountable for shaping and managing executive level, value based partnerships with the Bank’s most strategic technology suppliers. Operating at senior stakeholder level across Technology & Operations, this role drives strategic alignment, commercial value, performance optimisation, and risk resilience across the technology supply base.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

•    Serve as the primary executive interface for designated Technology Strategic Suppliers. 
•    Define and execute supplier strategies and joint business plans aligned to Technology priorities, demand outlook, contract frameworks, and risk appetite. 
•    Build long term, high trust partnerships focused on value creation, innovation, and mutual growth. 
•    Lead senior level governance, performance forums, and escalation management with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

 

Performance Management and Contract Governance

•    Own end to end performance management for assigned Strategic Suppliers, including KPIs, scorecards, and executive reviews. 
•    Drive commercial optimisation, cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity initiatives in partnership with Technology, Finance, and suppliers. 
•    Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for material or persistent performance issues. 
•    Ensure sustainability and ESG related commitments are embedded, monitored, and reported where applicable
•    Provide oversight of contract performance, obligations, and compliance on both sides. 
•    Partner closely with Technology Legal, SCM Category Management, and Finance to support negotiations, renewals, and major commercial decisions. 
•    Ensure commercial decisions balance cost, resilience, scalability, and long term value

Risk Management

•    Proactively identify and manage third party, concentration, operational, and geopolitical risks associated with Strategic Suppliers. 
•    Ensure contingency and resilience plans for critical services are of the highest quality
•    Ensure full alignment to SCB third party risk management policies, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements. 
•    Maintain high quality supplier master data and metadata, supporting governance and regulatory reporting.

 

People and Talent and Stakeholder Partnership

•    Act as a trusted advisor to Technology CIOs, Global Category Leads, and senior stakeholders. 
•    Enable effective collaboration between Technology teams and Strategic Suppliers, translating business needs into clear supplier outcomes. 
•    Contribute thought leadership on supplier strategy, market dynamics, and innovation trends

Our Ideal Candidate

•    10+ years of experience in strategic vendor / supplier relationship management, preferably within Technology and Financial Services. 
•    Proven track record managing senior, complex, global suppliers in large, matrixed organisations. 
•    Strong commercial capability, including negotiation, value realisation, and contract governance. 
•    Demonstrated ability to operate with credibility at executive level, influencing diverse senior stakeholders. 
•    Deep understanding of technology supply markets, sourcing models, and vendor economics. 
•    Experience navigating risk, regulatory, and audit environments within a global financial institution. 
•    Highly effective communicator with strong executive presence and structured thinking.

•    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field 
•    Membership: CIPS or Similar
