Job Summary
SME Banking (“SME”) within Standard Chartered Bank aims to provide companies with turnover of up to US$100mio in Singapore a suite of product that meets their financing, transactional and protection requirement.
As a Team Manager, in addition to providing guidance to the Relationship Managers within your team, you will be expected to actively develop the accounts within your own portfolio to meet and exceed quarterly sales targets as stipulated in the “Quarterly Scorecard” as well as ensure that relationships managed by yourself consistently comment on how amazing your service is.
We are looking for leaders that can think differently and drive forward and change the perception of what SME banking relationship managers provide and the customer experience around relationship management. You must be strategic minded, commercially astute, with strong operational and people development experience. More importantly, you should believe that you can and will make a difference to those who work with you, and inspire them to achieve the overall vision.
You must have, or be prepared to quickly demonstrate an in-depth understanding of:
• All the SME products available to the clients, including all cash management, loans, trade, investments, insurance, and hedging solutions.
• An ability to recommend and place the appropriate product to maximize the client’s affinity to the bank
• You must be able to manage, grow and deepen the accounts under your team through NTB acquisition, cross-selling and delivering needs-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• You will be instrumental to inspire a team of between 8 to 10 individuals who will be responsible to deliver experiences and build customer loyalty. You will have to guide the development of these individuals and lead your teams to maintain peak performance.
• Manage portfolio of client relationships through RMs within your team to grow revenue from the portfolio
• Manage RMs to ensure that they are well equipped to advise and delivering premium service expected
Performance Measures
• To drive and achieve Revenue Driver targets in terms of NTB acquisition, Growth in Revenue, Deposit (Liabilities) balance, NFI and NII, Wealth products including FX & Investments and BANCA etc
• To ensure delivering the roll up targets for Team
• To ensure complete compliance and quality of work that meets internal and regulatory requirements
• Bank’s interest must be protected at all times. To raise any risk concerns in writing immediately to seniors. Ensure Bank’s is never at risk from your action, or inaction.
• To engage Product Specialists to provide banking services at corporate level.

Our Ideal Candidate
• University Graduate
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in serving business/commercial/corporate clients experience servicing international businesses under the cross-border context. Of which minimum 2 years of experience in leading a team
• Strong compliance experience and knowledge to meet our regulatory requirements in areas of ‘Know Your Customer’ (“KYC”), ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ (“AML”), ‘Customer Due Diligence’ (“CDD”) and FATCA, CRS adherence
• Sound product knowledge on trade, cash, lending and FX
• Knowledge of operational procedures, documentation requirements, banking practices and regulations related to SME Banking
• Demonstrates a hands-on approach to problem solving, identifying issues and using initiative and available resources to generate solutions
• Strong communication, stakeholder and people management skills, able to converse in appropriate levels of detail
Role Specific Technical Competencies
• Sound product knowledge on trade, cash, lending, Wealth products and strong understanding of local industries, supply/value chains and market environment
• Strong compliance experience and knowledge to meet our regulatory requirements in areas of ‘Know Your Customer’ (“KYC”), ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ (“AML”), ‘Customer Due Diligence’ (“CDD”) and FATCA, CRS adherence.
• Knowledge and ability to determine and satisfy client needs and maintain a partnering relationship during engagements; includes influencing, communicating, presenting, facilitating, managing and developing others.
• Demonstrates a hands-on approach to problem solving, identifying issues and using initiative and available resources to generate solutions
