Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

TradeXpress is a strategic and transformational re-platforming program for Trade finance which globally covers all Documentary and Open Account Trade Products.

As a member of the TradeXpress team, the Product Owner is responsible for end to end design, build and delivery of Trade Products on TradeXpress.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy*

Awareness and understanding of the Group’s and TB Trade specifically business strategy and model appropriate to the role. Commitment to delivery of TradeXpress as a strategic deliverable for TB Trade.

Business*

Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates. Understanding of the specifics as they relate to TB Trade processes and TradeXpress delivery.

Processes

Review the processes as part of the Build during the CRA approval before the Feature release. Understanding, documenting and discussing with various stakeholders on the process changes in TX and getting the CRA approval.

 

Risk Management

•    Adherence to all Group Policies and relevant legislation 
•    Commitment and adherence to Group Code of Conduct
•    Ensure product development aligns to internal governance frameworks that sets out the requirements for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions.
•    Where material changes are made to existing solutions, ensure compliance to process change impact assessment and technology change impact assessments are completed.

Governance 
•    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Willingness to ‘speak up’ in the event of any realized or perceived breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues
•    Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10 plus years of work experience in Trade finance products and processes with very good understanding of macro business environment, trends, and competition.
  • Experience in large scale transformations/ change management projects preferred.
  • Should have experience in ML/AI use cases working with technology for solutions and delivery. Experience with OCR/Data Extraction use cases preferable.
  • Must have previous experience as a Product Owner or Business Lead for technology projects.
  • Should be able to translate client needs and transition objectives into actionable and process.
  • Understanding of the overall digitization tools and technology landscape, current trends and applicability in the business environment.
  • Ability to co-relate technology to transition, thereby possessing the ability to sell the concept to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond effectively to change, managing work in a fast-paced matrix environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive lasting relationships, even in difficult situations, with diverse people spanning internal/external organizations.
  • Proven ability to take a step back and look at the macro view to connect the dots between requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills in engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to perform under high pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to present to a large audience with comfort.
  • Experienced in transitioning from Waterfall to Agile, guiding inexperienced teams as product owner.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal management oversight.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams across business and technology.
  • Strong skills in conceptual and quantitative problem-solving, aligning a broad range of stakeholders from multiple functions, and executing against a tightly-defined timeline.
  • Experience in working with technology project teams, from the business perspective, a significant plus.
  • Experience in Agile tools like ADOs, Confluence and JIRA preferred.
