Role Overview:
Based in SC Ventures, the Vendor Application Manager plays a key role in the onboarding, evaluation and lifecycle management of SaaS applications that are used by the Venture delivery teams. 

The Vendor Application Manager works closely with enterprise architecture, cyber security, technology operations and risk teams to ensure that all incoming applications meet the required standards prior to onboarding.  This is a process-led, cross-functional role that is suited for someone who is structurally minded, meticulous, and confident engaging with technical and business stakeholders.

The role is also responsible for managing the software asset lifecycle, ensuring that all software assets are recorded and tracked centrally and that license agreements and contract renewals are updated as required. 

Key Responsibilities

1. SaaS Application Onboarding
•    Own the end-to-end intake and onboarding workflow for new SaaS applications.
•    Coordinate stakeholder assessments (Architecture, Security, Risk, Procurement)
•    Ensure completion of artefacts such as architecture reviews, data privacy assessments and vendor security assessments.
•    Validate vendor controls and certifications (eg: SOC 2, ISO27001) and resilience measures.
•    Track actions, requirements and approvals through the onboarding lifecycle.

2. Software Asset Lifecycle Management
•    Maintain the master software/application inventory with accurate metadata.
•    Track renewals, contract expiry dates, usage volumes, licence optimisation, and owner accountability.
•    Coordinate offboarding, deprovisioning, and lifecycle events.
•    Support supply chain management or procurement as required.
•    Manage vendor invoicing and payments

3. Technology Governance & Compliance
•    Ensure compliance with internal onboarding frameworks, security standards, and data protection controls.
•    Document processes, decisions, and risk assessments.
•    Support risk, privacy, and operational resilience reviews.

4. Stakeholder Coordination & Process Facilitation
•    Ensure all assessment requirements are captured, tracked, and completed.
•    Facilitate review meetings, follow-ups, and decision recording.

5. Continuous Improvement
•    Enhance workflows, templates and checklists for application onboarding governance.
•    Recommend improvements based on lessons learned and emerging risks.
•    Support automation or tooling improvements (e.g., application catalogues, vendor assessment tools, workflow automations).

Skills and Experience

Essential
•    2–5 years in technology operations, IT governance, business systems support, vendor application management, or a similar role.
•    Understanding of SaaS platforms and cloud-based application environments.
•    Strong process orientation; able to follow and refine structured workflows.
•    Comfortable reading vendor documentation, security certifications, and technical materials.
•    Able to manage multiple stakeholders and work independently.
•    Strong communication and analytical documentation skills.
Desirable
•    Exposure to technology governance, cyber security, or architecture.
•    Familiarity with vendor risk assessments, data privacy, supply chain assurance, or procurement workflows.
•    Basic understanding of integration patterns, identity management (SSO, SCIM), and cloud security concepts.
•    Interest in AI-driven applications, automation, or IT risk domains.
Soft Skills
•    Highly organised, detail-oriented, process-driven.
•    Confident communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Strong follow-up discipline and ability to shepherd tasks to completion.
•    Self-starter with accountability for deadlines and quality.
