Key Responsibilities
This role sits within the Sustainable Finance team in the Wealth and Retail Bank (WRB), and supports the wider team across the initiatives being rolled out across the private bank, wealth management and SME bank. In particular, the role will focus on building up the bank’s profile as a leader in carbon markets among private banking and SME clients. The candidate will focus on the development of the HNW and SME carbon markets proposition, materials development and business development. He/she will support in the education of frontline, COO and risk colleagues, to support the onboarding of SME carbon project developers and the accompanying solutions to meet their needs.
Business
SME:
• Support the proposition build for SME carbon developers, including developing banking solutions to support their growth.
• Work closely with Singapore business and rest of SME markets to enable onboarding of carbon developers or broader carbon ecosystem.
• Develop client materials and build up SME frontline champions.
• Support development and implementation of SC WIN campaigns in key markets. SC WIN is our women entrepreneur proposition.
PvB:
• Support development of carbon markets and broader SF client discussion materials for private banking client engagement.
• Work with business to identify list of clients for engagement. This will include clients in high carbon sectors and agriculture.
WM:
• Support development of carbon markets and broader sustainable investing content.
• Work with product teams and asset managers on developing carbon markets product ideas.
• Supporting the distribution of one-bank carbon solutions.
• Support ongoing annual sustainable investment product reviews and due diligence.
• Support monthly development of Sustainable Investments Universe.
Processes
• Work with markets to ensure that processes are in place to mitigate greenwashing risks during product launches.
People and Talent
• Support in driving internal awareness of carbon markets.
• Work with product teams on educating frontline on carbon themed products during product launches.
• Support in equipping front line colleagues with an understanding of carbon markets and sustainable finance.
Risk Management
• Support climate risk embedding across key WRB businesses.
• Support embedding of reputational and sustainability risks across WRB businesses.
Governance
• Support in ensuring that sustainable finance proposition is in line with our governance standards to prevent greenwashing
Regulatory and Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
• Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred in Wealth Management, Sustainable Development, Development Finance
• Training: 5 years experience in Sustainable Finance, Wealth Management
• Languages: Business Communication, Mandarin an advantage
