Job Summary

Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Full-Stack Developer to build, and scale AI-enabled applications and platforms. The role requires deep experience across modern frontend and backend technologies, strong software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, and data services into production-grade systems. You will work closely with product owners, ML engineers, and platform teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance AI solutions.

Responsibilities
•    Develop and maintain Python-based AI applications in production. Implement and optimize data processing (e.g., data validation and transformation) pipelines using pandas and numpy. Build and maintain the model library (python library). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and refine project requirements.
•    Create efficient database schemas, queries, and data models. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications. Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies 

Technical Requirements
•    Contribute to building web applications, APIs, and data-driven features under guidance from senior engineers.
•    Implement frontend components using frameworks such as React, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
•    Develop backend services using Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django) or Node.js, including basic API endpoints and data access layers.
•    Assist in integrating AI/LLM functionalities such as chat interfaces, embeddings, or simple RAG workflows.
•    Support database operations, including SQL queries, basic schema updates, and interactions with NoSQL/vector stores.
•    Participate in testing, documentation, code reviews, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
•    Troubleshoot frontend–backend integration issues and contribute to continuous improvement in code quality.
•    Research new AI frameworks, libraries, and tooling to support ongoing development activities.

•    Responsible for developing some business-oriented Machine Learning models

•    The ability to interpret the Machine Learning models, identify key issues and put in place appropriate model controls and measures.

•    Identify key Responsible AI related to the models developed

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

•    Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
•    Proven experience as a Python or Web Developer, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
•    Strong proficiency in Python and its libraries, particularly pandas and numpy, or frontend tools, e.g. react, next.js.
•    Experience in building Python-based web applications using gradio, Flask or similar frameworks.
•    Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and standard web development practices.
•    Proficiency in database design and SQL, with experience in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
•    Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly) is a plus.
•    Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, LangChain/LlamaIndex, or agentic frameworks and experience integrating AI into applications.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•    Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
•    Ability to adapt to fast-paced development cycles and changing project priorities.
