Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Cloud Engineer role exists to design, implement, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions across multi-cloud environments. 
•    Deliver resilient cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud that support application scalability, security, availability, and performance. 
•    Accelerate engineering delivery through DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, container platforms, and reliable release tooling. 
•    Improve production stability through observability, troubleshooting, performance optimisation, cost transparency, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

Key Responsibilities

Cloud architecture and implementation 
•    Design and implement scalable, secure and highly available cloud solutions across AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud. 
•    Build resilient cloud architectures that support performance, availability and future growth requirements. 
DevOps, automation and platform engineering 
•    Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD and Azure DevOps. 
•    Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible to standardise provisioning and configuration. 
•    Manage containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm. 
Reliability, observability and optimisation 
•    Implement monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Promtail. 
•    Troubleshoot production issues and optimise cloud environments for cost, performance and operational stability. 
Collaboration and capability building 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions aligned to engineering, risk and operational needs. 

Skills and Experience

Must-have Skills 
•    Multi-cloud architecture: AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud 
•    Container platforms: Docker, Kubernetes and Helm 
•    Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and Ansible 

Other Skills 
•    CI/CD engineering: Jenkins, Argo CD and Azure DevOps 
•    Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Prom tail 
•    Production troubleshooting, performance and cost optimisation 
•    Cloud governance in banking or regulated environments  

Motivations

•    Solving complex cloud engineering problems that improve resilience, scalability and security for critical applications. 
•    Automating repeatable engineering work through modern DevOps, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices. 
•    Working in collaborative, regulated technology environments where production stability, cost efficiency and continuous improvement matter.

Qualifications

Key Experiences 
•    6-8 years total experience, including a minimum of 5 years relevant cloud experience; hands-on delivery across cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure automation, container platforms, observability and production support. 

Certifications / Qualifications (only where mandatory) 
•    AWS and/or Azure certifications desirable 

Languages 
•    English proficiency suitable for technical documentation, stakeholder collaboration and production support communications.
