Job Summary
The AD provides direct sales and execution support to the Senior Banker(s) to originate new business and in partnership with the Senior Banker(s) is jointly accountable for client revenues/profitability and risk acceptance (AML, CDD and Credit). The role would expose the AD to Alternative Institutional managers (Real money, Hedge funds and alternative fund clients), Financial Sponsors, Super funds, Pension funds and Private Credit Funds. The role would cut across all industries and include Real Estate and Infrastructure. The AD would assist in establishing and maintaining an end to end understanding of the client group structure and client needs and steering the client relationship through Account Planning.
Strategy
• Assist with the development and implementation of the client strategy (working with the coverage team including product partners) for the designated portfolio as identified through the Account Planning process
• Proactive assistance to the Senior Banker(s) with transactional support on new business origination activities i.e. client research, pitch books, industry leads etc; including coordination with network and product.
• Client analysis, reporting on post origination activities; client meeting documentation; briefing notes.
• Support Senior Banker (s) on sales discipline requirements i.e. Account Planning process; pipeline maintenance; client call reports; preparation of deal approval submissions.
• New transactions: deal execution support, document negotiation, coordination with Product Sales and Client Management team on documentation matters and deal drawdown, fee booking and revenue recognition
• Proactive management of portfolio including client and product partner engagement to ensure limit utilization and ensure the accuracy of revenue/returns
• Assist with delivering financial performance objectives (revenues, profitability, diversity and quality of client income, etc)
Business
• Manage a portfolio of Alternative Institutional managers (Real money, Hedge funds and alternative fund clients), Financial Sponsors, Super funds, Pension funds, Private Credit Funds and focus on prioritized clients
• Assist in delivery of the budget and stretched goal of assigned portfolio and be a team player to support the delivery of the team budget
• Provide oversight to portfolio to ensure penetration and implementation of strategy
• Develop skills required to take on direct client responsibility with the aim of:
o Generating potential client leads and successfully convert such leads into actual clients.
o Generate and execute clear Client Account Plans & Briefing Notes.
o Be actively involved in the marketing efforts e.g. in communication with management, both internal and external and cross selling multiple products and multiple geographies to client.
• The role will also involve working directly with the Senior Bankers to investigate new areas of potential business, new client sets and preparing required internal papers to support strategy. The AD will also assist the Senior Bankers with co-ordination of required reports to monitor business activity and other ad hoc activities.
• Ensure that industry and product knowledge is continually developed personally and within the team.
• Stay abreast and anticipate the developments / news of the Industries/ markets in which our clients operate
Key Responsibilities
Processes
• To work closely with our product partners across the Group.
• Take ownership of administrative tasks pertaining to the assigned portfolio e.g. client pitch books, account plans, call reports, and organising client interactions (physically & virtually).
• Support GAM / Senior Banker in account strategy process for each client
• Identifies and acts on opportunities to create new partnerships by working closely with the coverage team and product partners to ensure execution and delivery of Account plans.
• There is an expectation that this role will also include support for the FI Credit Analyst from time to time, which may include supporting work for credit submissions and other credit related work. The role will also require working with the CM team to facilitate onboarding and any required renewals by liaising with the client.
• Key regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the governance framework throughout the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) team
• All sales disciplines are adhered in accordance with CIB standards i.e. Account Planning, Call Reports, Deal Pipeline Management, static data management as applicable for the role.
• Develop opportunities through attendance at key Industry events as necessary.
Risk Management
• Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct and develop a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among team members.
• Be proactive in ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures and lead preparation of client files for audit purposes
• Risks are appropriately identified and managed as per CIB policies and standards.
• All required Training is completed ahead of time
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative maner.
Governance
• Professionally represent Standard Chartered Bank at the highest levels within region and internationally.
• Ensure compliance with the Group’s standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to Anti-Money Laundering and Client Due Diligence (Know-Your-Customer).
• Operate within Group Operational Risk Policy and Procedures as defined in respective operational risk manuals.
• Ensure operational risk issues, losses and non-compliance (inclusive of breaches) are escalated / reported in accordance to policy and procedures set out in Group and Business /Function procedures
• A strong ability to balance credit, reputational, regulatory and operational risks when making commercial decisions is key to success in this role.
• Acts as a champion of the SCB’s brand, culture, and conduct standards

Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in banking.
• Risk & AML certified as stipulated by Bank policy.
• Hands on experience in relationship management ( Both Internal & External ).
• Familiarity with Financial Markets and Lending product
