Job Summary
• A healthy risk culture is an enterprise-level ability to identify and assess current and future risks, openly discuss and take prompt actions. All staff contribute to this culture through our Three lines of Defence. First line of Defence or Process Owner shall self-validate the risk upon bank’s enterprise risk management frameworks, and Business Risk Management Team in 1st line of defence is responsible for maintaining the governance and assurance of processes and frameworks for robust compliance and controls, e.g. AML and sanctions checks, protection of Bank, client information and assets.
• The role holder will provide Risk governance control view and execution to support business manage the risk including Operations, Compliance, Financial Crime, Information Cyber Securities risk with the objective of enhancing the department’s risk control capability, optimising the use of data in support of control assurance planning and testing as well as in the development of effective continuous monitoring strategies.
Key Responsibilities
This job role is to support BRM lead will oversight risk governance with business segment and other functions in WRB, WRB ops for driving client centric culture. Key responsibilities include:
• Implementing effective risk management process of risk identification, assessment and measurement, acceptance and monitoring to reduce gross operational risk exposure to acceptable levels within the risk appetite
• Development risk identification, which is forward looking, risk based and customer focus
• Identify, assess, monitor, escalate and report operational risks from respective business scope to both business line managers and 2nd line team in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain data analytics dashboard, working closely with BRM lead and business stakeholder to provide the data analytics scenarios solution to improve control effectiveness and efficiency.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, documentation of programs to assist in population and scoping analysis, sampling, testing, and issue impact justification

• Be accountable for supporting WRB Business and Operations strategic agenda while maintaining risk, assurance and governance oversight.
Business
• Support WRB Business by providing risk management and governance support.
Processes
• Ensure effective management of principle risks within country and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
• Continuously evaluate and identify the risk implications of business strategies and programmes and provide balanced advice on required risk remediation actions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the unit / business to ensure continuous improvement in risk management to strengthen the control environment.
• Ensure timely recording risk issues and reporting quality (i.e. information being recorded, data accuracy, completeness and timely resolution) in M7.
• Ensure the implementation and execution of the self-assessment process such as sampling and testing the population of controls and CST result to comply with agreed control standards and facilitate the monitoring/collection of any Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

Risk Management
• Support BRM to coordinate and lead the identification, presentation and resolution of the risk issues through relevant governance committees or forums and timely submission of risk paper to ensure adequate governance and oversight.
• Embed the Group’s values and Conduct with the team and ensure compliance with relevant ERMF
• Ensure that management (and any other stakeholder as required) is kept aware of the risk, control & audit profile of the function through periodical reporting.
• Validation of Controls: Key Control Self Assessments (KCSA) or Control Sample Testing (CST) / Key Risk Indicators (KRI).
• Support BRM to lead the implementation of ERMF and ensure it is effectively embedded across all identified areas.
Governance
Ensure adherence to the ERMF in the identification, assessment, mitigation and control and monitoring of risk. In this regard, ensure sufficient traction and follow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risks and Audit failures, escalating issues to the Country BRM Head and/or Country Process owner.
• Assist timely identification / escalation of operational risk for new products, business, regulatory requirements and implementation of appropriate control mitigations.
• Maintain a good understanding of the expectation of key stakeholders and reflect in internal procedures by implementing effective controls.
• Support BRM to trigger in-depth review of processes with control defects identified through internal / external events.
• Maintain the log for self-identified risks / issues.

Other Responsibilities
• Support BRM to act as coordinator for various internal/external audits/reviews and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information is provided.
• Proactively inform Country Internal Audit self-identified issues during planning stage of GIA audits/reviews (formal audits, risk reviews).
• Perform control reviews within business / function and proactively engage Operational Risk/Compliance for any issues identified.
• Track actions against audits and internal reviews and report the status of these actions periodically to the appropriate governance forums and follow-through to resolution.
• Ensure lessons learned and best practices are shared across business / function and a central repository of audit points / observations / reports is in place.
