JOB SUMMARY

Support Retail Banking Head Office in Taiwan in areas including planning and coordination of the key business initiatives, internal/ external communications, governance and other ad hoc projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

•    This personnel provides support in to design a country-level short-term and medium-term strategy to deliver the WRB annual target of headline and bottom-line figures. The strategy shall reflect the Group’s and Market’s strategic direction across regions and localise for Taiwan market.

Business

•    Coordinate and work closely with Group, Region, Country stakeholders to drive the key WRB business initiatives
•    Ensure alignment of Group, Region and Country strategic initiatives and assist in initiatives rollout
•    Contribute to the effective operation of WRB collective agenda and procedures for monitoring and assessing of assigned initiatives
•    Manage regular submission requests from Group, Region or Country Office
•    Regular WRB internal committee/ meeting coordination 
•    Manage the ad-hoc tasks and assignments appointed by Country WRB Head
•    Demonstrate deep understanding of Market status, Business environment and our strategy, to effectively articulate challenges and opportunities.

Processes

•    Always inspire a focus on quality improvement, looking internally and externally for best practice.
•    Close analysis of available metrics to understand service delivery challenges; work collaboratively to resolve these through drawing together all relevant stakeholders.
•    Work in partnership with the business and functions to remove any obstacles to service delivery.

People & Talent

•    Contribute to discussions regarding succession planning and internal hiring, as well as impact this will have on hiring decisions / strategy.
•    Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and reward in line with performance against responsibilities and objectives
•    Create and maintain a culture of open communication at all levels which subsequently filters through to excellent customer engagement
•    Role model valued behaviours, leading by example.   
Risk Management
•    Demonstrate a deep understanding of operational risks in areas of responsibility
•    Proactive risk management; remain vigilant in identifying and managing forward-looking risks, flagging potential problems to relevant stakeholders in advance of issues arising.

Governance
•    A deep understanding of risk, governance, and regulatory frameworks is essential, alongside proven strategy planning, stakeholder management, and account planning experience. The role also demands excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate at senior levels and a high level of resilience and initiative to drive business outcomes.
•    Act to minimise operational loss and audit failures and take proactive measures to respond to issues once they have arisen.
•    Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning from past failures to ensure constant control and governance awareness and prevent reoccurrences.  
•    Ensuring all reporting and metrics are delivered to pre-agreed standards
•    Embed the Group’s Valued Behaviours and Code of Conduct across the team

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
