Job Summary

•    Overall financial management of the Consumer, Private & Business Banking (“WRB”) businesses for Taiwan - The role focuses on partnering with the business on strategic growth initiatives with a view to driving income growth, while ensuring an optimal and efficient cost base, in addition to balance sheet management.

•    Support the delivery of performance by delivering high quality and effective management reporting of WRB - This will include financial performance and reporting and presentation of Management team reports, financial controls including month end closing, budget / forecast process and Balance Sheet Management or stress testing related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

•    Provide critical support to the TW WRB Finance Head on strategy formulation. Coordinate forecasting, budgeting and monthly reporting cycles in co-operation with business stakeholders and Country/Region/Group.

Business

•    Partner with business stakeholders to drive and manage Taiwan WRB performance:
•    Analyze business performance, highlight opportunities/risks and work with business to identify plans to achieve committed financial outcome.
•    Work with business in managing costs through efficient investment management & cost control process.
•    Partner with business on strategic growth initiatives - Assess, review and provide guidance to business regarding, pricing / repricing strategy, product mix, sales performance, cost of funds.
•    Actively contribute in Balance sheet management for strategic planning, opportunity and risks identification and optimizing leverage on WRB and overall TW balance sheet.
•    Assume the role and responsibilities of WRB related committee members, e.g., Lending Pricing Committee, CFLIP Committee (Country Frontline Incentive Plan), OSPRC (Offshore Structured Product Review Committee), WRB MT Meeting, etc

Processes
•    Collaborate with Region/Group Business Finance and Country Finance teams in providing quality, insightful & timely management information to senior management.
•    Financial controls and month end closing.
•    Support TW ALCO for balance sheet inputs and analysis, along with key balance sheet trackers.
•    Ensure regular and ad-hoc management reporting requirements from Region/Group and local country management team are met.
•    Capital adequacy testing related works, e.g., country or cluster ICAAP, stress testing.

People & Talent
•    Ensure management and development of staff.
•    Participate and ensure appropriate WRB Business Finance’s representation in all projects when required.
•    Ensure GFS service levels are maintained in line with onshore requirements.

Risk Management
•    Ensure robust financial processes in place to report balance sheet, profit and for WRB segments and products in an accurate and timely manner.
•    Ensure compliance with Group / IFRS accounting principles and practices, Financial Control policy, and other regulatory accounting guidelines.
•    Ensure timely and correct submission of financial returns to various internal and external authorities and stakeholders.

Governance
•    Actively contribute towards helping bank meet prudential ratio management and financial controls policy

Qualifications

•    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
•    TRAINING : 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry:
•    Experienced in consumer banking products accounting, booking models, performance analysis and management.
•    Sound understanding of IFRS and TIFRS accounting standards requirements, business analysis techniques, risk management methodologies, project management techniques.
•    A high degree of integrity and ability to challenge the views and actions of others in a constructive manner.
•    Prior experience in managing senior-level business stakeholders.
•    LANGUAGES:    Written and Verbal Proficiency in mandarin and English 

Skills and Experience

•    End to End understanding of CIB Business in particular Banking and Transaction Services Products
•    Leverage Key Performance Indicators to drive Business Performance
•    Leverage Financial Analysis to interpret and drive accurate conclusions of business performance and forecast
•    Create, implement, evaluate and enhance Internal Control Processes
•    Understand Credit Risk management and its implications for RWA and EC
•    Understand FTP & the interplay with Business Cost of Funds and Net interest margins
•    Understand booking and p&l recognition of derivative products in particular FX and Interest Rate Swaps and their hedging applications
