Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The Relationship Manager (RM) reports to Head of Global Subsidiaries (GS) to originate new business and enhance and cement on-going returns in partnership with the internal stakeholders to be jointly accountable for client revenues/profitability.  
•    The RM develops and manages strategic relationships with multinational corporate clients, leveraging deep industry knowledge and a strong understanding of clients’ business strategies, operating environments, and financial needs. The RM identifies opportunities across the Bank’s product capabilities and works closely with product partners, other coverage teams, and relevant stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that support clients’ growth ambitions while generating sustainable returns for the Bank.
•    Through strong collaboration with Global Account Managers (GAMs), Regional Account Managers (RAMs), product specialists, and risk partners, the RM leads client engagement, drives business origination, and coordinates the delivery of the Bank’s global network and capabilities. The RM is accountable for achieving client revenue and profitability targets while ensuring appropriate risk management, including adherence to AML, KYC/CDD, and credit risk standards.
•    A successful RM possesses strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively with senior client stakeholders and internal partners. The RM demonstrates sound judgment, a client-centric mindset, and the ability to navigate complex situations, work under pressure, and deliver results in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Define and agree the relationship strategy for GS clients in Taiwan, in alignment with GAM / RAM and relevant network stakeholders, and drive disciplined local execution.
•    Develop and maintain business plans for key GS clients to deepen and broaden relationships, identify strategic priorities and opportunities, and support engagement on themes relevant to multinational clients operating in Taiwan.
•    Support global client relationships through rigorous business planning, translating clients’ local and cross-border needs into actionable business opportunities across the Bank.
•    Coordinate with other RMs, industry teams and product partners to develop and implement client strategies for the designated GS portfolio, ensuring a consistent “one-Bank” experience for clients across markets.
•    Identify client needs across SCB’s product capabilities, originate new business opportunities and grow the GS franchise by leveraging the Bank’s network, sector expertise and competitive strengths.
•    Conduct systematic relationship reviews for priority GS clients with relevant CCIB business development partners and clients’ senior management / key decision makers to ensure active dialogue and disciplined follow-through.

Business
•    Actively lead the origination and client relationship and identify client needs across a full range of relevant products, originate new business by capitalising on bank competitive attributes  
•    Act as a pivotal point of contact to provide strategic advice to client’s decision makers, originating sales through leading deal discussions / managing Request for Proposals, and coordinating global and multi-product activities
•    Maximise the returns and deliver financial performance objectives to the Bank whilst maintaining focus on client outcomes, and strengthening and deepening relationships at senior and operating levels in clients 
•    Ensure that product knowledge is continually developed and up to date e.g. credit, FX, cash, and trade, sustainable finance, advisory, etc. 
•    Stay abreast of and anticipate the developments in markets in which their clients operate

Processes
•    Proactively manage the designated client portfolio to ensure:
•    Risks are appropriately identified and managed.
•    The client portfolio is managed in compliance with the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies with ability to contribute to policy formulation
•    Key regulatory risks and concerns are raised through the governance framework and with Banking management  
•    Adhere to relevant sales disciplines in accordance with CIB standards e.g. Account Planning, Call Reports, Deal Pipeline Management, and static data management

People & Talent
•    Provide guidance on junior team members. To execute the bank’s business strategy, support the team following the compliance and risk control guideline. Encourage team work and effective team culture as a senior banker. 

Risk Management
•    Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters, and provide proactive advice to clients on these issues 
•    Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct and ensure adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations, both personally and (where relevant) among team members. 

Governance
•    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which country operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Responsible for challenging colleagues effectively on regulatory and ethical or conduct issues and working effectively with regulators in an open and cooperative manner. 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Key stakeholders
Internal 
•    Engage with product partners within the country to ensure breadth and depth of client coverage and deepening.
•    Promote ONE BANK approach by actively working with GAMs and PAMs.
•    Engage with other RMs on relevant client account management activities.
•    Collaborate with support colleagues to enhance performance and work co-ordination and delegation of assignments.
•    Consult with stakeholders in Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure that the portfolio remains credit worthy and within the policies of the bank.
External
•    Existing and Prospective Client contacts at all levels 
o    Manage relationships, develop business, evaluate credits, negotiate facility terms and pricing, resolve operational problems and secure market information.
o    Market full range of Bank’s products and services. Explore new market opportunity and identify potential prospects.
•    Key ecosystem participants surrounding the client
•    Peers in the corporate banking sector

Qualifications

Education     Bachelor degree or above in banking or finance preferred
Certifications     Certification Test for Financial Derivatives Sales Personnel (obtain within 6 months from onboarding)
Languages     English and local language skills as relevant to country requirements
