JOB SUMMARY

•    Directly report to Global head, WRB marketing and connected to T7 markets
•    Determine WRB Marketing strategies for Taiwan, working closely with the Country CABM head, WRB head and Country WRB Business Heads, ensuring alignment with the Group and Country strategy.
•    Facilitate and implement Global WRB marketing strategies and collaborate with WRB Marketing group teams.
•    Contribute to overall WRB Marketing & CABM visions/priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Align WRB Marketing plans to Group and Country’s strategy and aspirations.
•    Use consumer, competitor and research insights to provide thought leadership to formulation of marketing strategy that supports Taiwan’s WRB business strategy.
•    Develop, socialise and implement the annual WRB Marketing plan/initiatives / calendar.
•    Drive brand and communications to positively profile the Bank in Taiwan
•    Determine the WRB Marketing strategies with for the country, working closely with the Global WRB Marketing heads, WRB Business Heads and WRB VCGM business Heads, ensuring alignment with the Group WRB Marketing key strategy and agenda.
•    Contribute to overall WRB Marketing vision/priorities as a member of the Country Brand & Marketing Management Teams
•    Support to drive the sustainability aspirations of the Bank in Taiwan.
•    Work with the functions’ Regional / Group teams to manage and implement key projects and strategy changes across the Bank.
•    Understand and communicate the Regional / Group strategy to teams under the area of responsibilities.

Business
•    Alignment to Country CEO, and business heads to drive their strategies and prioritise, whilst maintaining Group/ Country wide standards
•    Lead WRB Marketing team to develop plans for CABM disciplines, deliver quality activities to drive exceptional client experience, backed up by well design actionable metrics that are used for future decision making.
•    Deliver quality activities to drive exceptional client experiences - on plan, on budget and on time.
•    Drive digital strategy and effective use of digital platforms across the Bank.

•    Provide direction on leveraging research insights to develop Thought Leadership positions to Country Management Team, integrating them into WRB Marketing plans.
•    Support WRB Marketing team to design and execute campaigns to meet segment/product needs.
•    Integrate the WRB business and marketing strategy of the Bank working across CABM and WRB Marketing platforms, such as Global WRB Marketing platform internal communications.
•    Be a Brand Champion - ensure all segment and product campaigns live up to our Brand promise of Here for good while, at the same time, delivering committed business outcomes.
•    Lead the delivery of WRB Marketing activities in a framework that ensure they are executed within the brand specifications (brand positioning, brand architecture) to reinforce the overall Standard Chartered brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel. 
•    Drive brand awareness and consideration in the region and achieve targeted metric levels for the region.
•    Monitor sponsorships and donations at a regional and country level to ensure they are consistent and appropriate for the Bank.

Processes
•    Ensure WRB Marketing follow their desk operating instructions.
•    Manage the Operational Risk standards for WRB Marketing.
•    Ensure both functions follow their desk operating instructions.
•    Manage the KCSA and Operational Risk standards for WRB Marketing teams in the country.
•    Proactively manage advertising and media agencies.
•    Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional effectiveness and improve operational efficiencies.

People & Talent
•    Work with Head, WRB Taiwan to create a strong professional team of WRB Marketing competencies and capability.
•    Share and advice on best practices and emerging developments across the country/region
•    Enhance leadership capability and create a culture of talent development and empowerment. Champion capability and training requirements for WRB Marketing team.
•    Assess and measure the team’s activities to ensure alignment with plans, forecasts and capacity models.
•    Support WRB Marketing team’s wellness.
•    Facilitate WRB Marketing team’s career development and future skill uplift.

Risk Management
•    Demonstrate shift towards anticipation of risk
•    Provide leadership around Risk Management, both reputational and operational to ensure they are proactively identified and mitigated in country and all issues are reported/escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures in a timely manner
•    Provide leadership around Operational Risk Management, to ensure they are proactively identified and mitigated in country and all issues are timely reported/escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures
•    Take first line risk management responsibilities into own responsibilities and every general management role.  
•    Ensure a full understanding and effective management of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility, and actively seek advice from specialists wherever required.
•    Ensure all material risk is identified, assessed, mitigate, monitored and reported, and that known risks are controlled within acceptable boundaries and to consistent standards.
•    Ensure all applicable policies, procedures, limits and other risk control requirements are implemented and complied with.  Ensure that applicable external rules and regulations are complied with. 
•    Align business (or functional) strategy with Risk Tolerance and Appetite and seek to optimize the risk-return profile of the business.
•    Set the right tone and expectations for the team and their area of responsibility for the risk management culture and conduct, and proactively seek regular assurance that their areas of responsibility are being performed to an acceptable risk and control standard.

Governance
•    Accountability for the WRB Marketing budgets and scorecards
•    Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Valued Behaviours and Code of Conduct
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. •    Completion of all mandatory training needed including e-learning within stated timeframes to support the understanding of the roles for delivering effective governance 
•    Oversee the team and relevant third parties (wherever applicable) effectively to ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls for the team to deliver effective governance.

Qualifications

•    Education - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
MBA or master’s degree in marketing or banking/finance is preferred.
