Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Risk Assessment Associate, to join our Compliance, Financial Crime, and Conduct Risk (“CFCR”) Risk Assessment team in the Americas. This role will support the analysis, reporting, and governance of the US Risk Assessment framework, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory expectations to deliver financial crime and regulatory compliance risk assessments. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Assist in the analysis and reporting of the annual US CFCR Risk Assessments processes.
•    Assist in the coordination and governance of the US Risk Assessment processes. 
Business
•    Assist in the governance and processes required to ensure that the US Risk Assessment framework delivers to the Group Risk Assessment framework and methodology, as well as industry/regulatory expectations.
•    Provide analysis and summary reporting resulting from the methodology execution for the CFCR Risk Assessment, Americas team.
Processes
•    Operation and delivery of the CFCR Risk Assessments for the Americas in accordance with the applicable Global Risk Assessment and US methodologies and Department Operating Instructions.
•    Assist the CFCR Americas, Risk Assessment team in the following areas:  
•    Reviewing the update of the Control Inventory and alignment to the control testing framework.
•    Issues management for the Region, including identifying the scope and mapping issues to the Control Inventory to ensure appropriate inclusion into the assessments.
•    Reviewing the assessments performed centrally to ensure appropriate assessment for the Region, including consideration of relevant issues, existing or merging risks, etc. 
•    Drafting Category level write-ups for centrally assessed Categories for inclusion in US Risk Assessment report.
•    Cross train in Control Effectiveness assessments and subject matter to serve as a back-up across the team. 
•    Analysis, documentation, and reporting of Inherent Risk Assessment for the US Risk Assessment
•    Creation of Control Effectiveness documentation.

Day-to-Day Tasks

•    Manage the governance and processes required to ensure that the US Risk Assessment framework delivers to the Group Risk Assessment framework and methodology, as well as industry/regulatory expectations. This will entail assisting in the management of the coordination of the US Risk Assessment to include the following: 
•    Prepare, track, and manage the Risk Assessment Plan for the iterative year across all US Risk Assessment deliverables to ensure timely completion.
•    Work with Head, CFCR Risk Assessment, Americas and Director, CFCR Risk Assessment, Americas, to ensure assignments of deliverables are developed and articulated.
•    Facilitate the development, approval, and incorporation of feedback for key Risk Assessment documentation, including the US Department Operating Instructions, Report, and Methodology.
•    Produce dashboards for status updates and other reporting to CFCR Americas senior management and other relevant forums and committees, as needed.
•    Work with the CFCR network across the Group to assess and collect the qualitative and quantitative data necessary to support the end-to-end CFCR risk assessment activities.
•    Contribute to the development and documentation of processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of current risk assessment processes.
Risk Management
•    Be fully conversant with and correctly apply Group and CFCR Policies and Processes in order to manage risks.
•    Make recommendations to relevant stakeholders on possible risk management responses to identified risks in order to ensure insightful, accurate and meaningful assessment of risks within the CFCR RAs.
•    Contribute to advising relevant stakeholders of the outcomes of risks identification and assessment methodologies.
•    Ability to understand business problems and CFCR risks, how data analytics can be used to solve these issues and generate mitigating strategies. 
•    Assess risks arising from products / segments / geographies / customers / transactions.
•    Validate data outputs created with the objective of identifying financial crime or regulatory compliance risk and escalate issues of concern.
•    Providing guidance to Heads of CFCR Regional Governance, FCC Country Heads and FCC Segment Heads on the drivers behind AML and Sanctions inherent risk in their Region / Country / Segment.
•    Prepare bespoke Inherent Risk Reports that highlight areas of focus and emerging financial crime trends by providing insights into client, product and transactional risk.
•    Support the delivery of the annual FCC and Compliance Risk Assessments for the Americas.

Qualifications

•    3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in financial institution or consultancy firm in Quality Assurance or Quality Controls
•    Proficient in assessing control evaluation results
•    Experienced in control design
•    Previous internal audit/assurance experience would be an asset
•    Knowledge of risk assessment compliance requirements and expectations
•    Knowledge of BSA/AML and Sanctions, ABC, and regulatory compliance requirements in Banking and an understanding of variation of such laws and regulations across the various jurisdictions
•    Software, Applications, Database and Research

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 65,000 USD to 85,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
