Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The Financial Markets Rates and Credit eTrading Development Team is a specialist team responsible for the design and development of an industry leading Fixed Income eTrading platform.
•    This role is an exciting opportunity for Functional QA Specialist with extensive experience in functional testing of applications or system flows catering to electronic trading of Front office  (Equity / Fixed Income / Foreign exchange) products.
•    Rates & Credit eTrading platform is combination of ION vendor product components & inhouse custom components for our eTrading platform providing pricing, quote contribution and trading integration for D2C and D2D markets dealing with Bonds, Interest Rates Swaps (IRS), Credit Default Swaps (CDS), FX options connectivity for the Rates, Credit & FX businesses.   The platform also includes various in-house Java components for Algorithmic Trading and electronic Straight Through Processing (STP) of trade booking flows.  The Algo components are helping to automate trading flows to free up traders for performing more value add for clients.
•    This Functional QA Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Global Rates & Credit eTrading team that is distributed across London, Bangalore and Singapore locations.

Key Responsibilities

•    Design and execute high-quality functional / integration / regression / acceptance test cases based on accurate business requirements analysis & component flows.
•    Maintain a testing structure to facilitate easiness for future additions / amendments and ongoing execution.
•    Champion and implement best testing practises & processes while testing server side and client-side components. 
•    Demonstrate effective and accurate test scheduling skills in line with other project deliverables.
•    Setting up Test Environment, Troubleshoot QA environments, diagnosing and resolving issues prior to formal testing.
•    Perform root cause analysis of issues to assist in determining the source of problems.
•    Utilise Jira to effectively categorise and track issues raised during the testing cycle.
•    Undertake strategic test planning & develop a strategic testing approach for each service in support of the FM eCommerce strategy.
•    Identify and analyse strategic testing opportunities and initiatives on a global basis.
•    Participate in regular testing review meetings and conduct proactive data analysis on all metrics, including daily / weekly / monthly reports.
•    Constantly analyse, enhance and seek to improve the testing processes employed.
•    Identify the testing flows & repetitive tasks for automation & raise them with appropriate stakeholders for prioritization
•    Identify, flag and mitigate risks that would impact the overall projects failure and success.
•    Effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and vendors on a regular basis.

•    Undertake strategic test planning & develop a strategic testing approach for each service in support of the FM eCommerce strategy.
•    Participate in regular testing review meetings and conduct proactive data analysis on all metrics, including daily / weekly / monthly reports.

•    Demonstrate strong business knowledge of Fixed Income electronic trading systems and a deep understanding of Fixed Income Landscape
•    Be SMEs on the testing of Fixed Income eTrading systems with extensive knowledge of Bonds, IRS & CDS

•    Constantly analyse, enhance and seek to improve the testing processes employed.
•    Identify the testing flows & repetitive tasks for automation & raise them with appropriate stakeholders for prioritization

Skills and Experience

•    Expertise in all Testing life Cycle stages & industry standard QA process knowledge
•    Strong Functional / Non-Functional / Integration / Regression Testing techniques knowledge
•    Exposure to Test Management tools like Jira, ADO Boards, and Confluence, ALM etc
•    Experience of working in Agile development SCRUM or related methodology in QA capacity
•    Strong Linux/Unix Operating System knowledge with hands on experience on VI Editor.
•    Basic RDBMS database or SQL skills
•    Domain Knowledge of Fixed Income / Equity / Foreign Exchange eTrading, Straight Through Processing business flows in either of asset class
•    Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to effectively interact with DEV, PSS, management and business stakeholders.
•    Troubleshooting skills in a complex testing environment
•    Experience of using source code control configuration and Build tools like Bitbucket, GIT, Maven, Jenkins build tool and InteliJ or Eclise as IDE

Qualifications

Education     Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science / IT or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

•    Demonstrate strong business knowledge of Fixed Income electronic trading systems and a deep understanding of Fixed Income Landscape
•    Be SMEs on the testing of Fixed Income eTrading systems with extensive knowledge of Bonds, IRS & CDS
•    Familiarity with D2C markets like Bloomberg, Market axess, TradeWeb and D2D markets.
•    Experience in Basic Unix commands.
•    Experience of working through all stages of testing life cycle processes with a goal of delivering changes into production without any defects
•    Experience of working in Agile SCRUM or Kanban frameworks.
•    Experience in review and execution of bdd scripts.
•    Possess excellent communication skills to facilitate accurate and efficient communication across globally distributed development and test teams.
•    Quick Learner, good analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Be customer oriented & focused individual with positive attitude

Nice To Have
•    Proven experience of testing solutions based on ION MarketView vendor products.  Knowledge of ION MMI, ION Sysadmin, Routers, ION market gateways and ION trading tools like VMO, MMS.
•    Experience of ION’s ITAS (Test automation suite), IMGT (mock gateways) frameworks and DPLAYER.  
•    Scripting language experience.
