Job Summary

A senior Java software engineer is required to work across financial applications within SCB. These applications are used by several hundred operators across the Investment Bank.

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop interfaces and integrate with upstream/downstream.
•    To perform code review and mentor junior developers.
•    As technical expert to support Production issue.
•    Work with QA team to support SIT/UAT/PT test.
•    Monitoring, Optimizing and Capacity Planning for the application.
•    Prepare documentation as required to follow SCB rules.
•    Meet the tight project delivery timelines 
•    Able to solve complex requirements and issues, and work with Vendor to troubleshooting.
•    Look for process improvements at all the stages of the project

Strategy
•    Design the solution and define the technical roadmap from the current to target architecture.    
•    Implement the integration with the Global CIB Technology systems and other TP systems, to help identify and overcome technology impediments as part of the solution implementation.
•    Providing state of the art technical solutions, which integrate seamlessly with the Bank’s front-to-back architecture.

Business
•    Implement the CIB data platform change agenda and solution, as well as ensuring the platform remains stable and meets the ever-increasing data volumes and business demands.
•    Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery, to agreed time, quality and cost
•    Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. 
•    Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions owned by CIB Technology 
•    Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team  
•    Ensure software is designed, developed, and tested in accordance with established standards. 
•    Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
•    Be part of any RFP process where vendor solutions are being considered, to meet a specific requirement

Processes
•    Instil AGILE best practices in the technology delivery teams, providing technical and coaching and mentoring.

Delivery management
•    Use appropriate tools like ADO, Confluence, etc to ensure that project task is clear and unambiguous.

Internal
•    Regulatory Reporting and Regulatory Compliance
•    ITO program and project leads
•    Up and downstream platform owners and SME’s
•    Project stakeholders cross function/globally
•    FM Architecture team
•    Production Support Services, including DBA’s, Infra, Networking and Cyber Security
•    Senior Management in SG / UK / IN/ CH.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    5+ years software development full life cycle experience on Linux. 
•    Strong experience of cloud, AWS, k8s,Docker,Podman etc. 
•    Familiar and experience with  ELK, Hadoop.
•    3+ years working experience with Oracle DB. 
•    5+ year Java/JaveEE application software development. 
•    5+ year Reactjs, Vuejs, typescript ,javascript software development. 
•    Middleware experience, familiar with ActiveMQ,Kafka,RabbitMQ, JMS and other interfaces.
•    Solid Linux shell script coding capability to automatic BAU tasks to increase efficiency.
•    Strong troubleshooting skills.
•    Good English communication skills, be able to manage communication/relationship with 3rd party vendors, and upstream App owners and other stakeholders.
•    Prior exposure to work on projects in the Banking & Financial Services Vertical is preferred
•    Bachelor/Master degree in IT related major. 
•    Agile experience is added advantage
•    Able to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and rapid learning capability, and detail oriented
