Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team as a software developer for the design and development of our EQ booking and life cycle system.
In this role, you will be responsible for various aspects of the system, including technical leadership, mentoring, gathering requirements, and collaborating with different teams. Your deep knowledge of EQ derivatives products, such as Options, Range Accrual, Equity Swap, and Accumulator, is essential for the success of this role. This is an application currently running in c# and excel, and we are looking to transition it to our main java based technology stack, so experience in both c# and java would be extremely beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Design and Development:
Lead the design and development of the EQ booking and life cycle system, ensuring its robustness and scalability, with a focus on deep product knowledge of EQ derivatives. This system is being migrated from c# to java as a medium term goal, and you will be instrumental in directing and executing this transition
2. Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide developers to ensure they align with the architecture of the existing system, emphasizing the importance of product knowledge in building the system.
3. Requirements Gathering with Business Understanding: Collaborate closely with Front Office (FO) and Middle Office (MO) users to gather and define system requirements, using business understanding terminology to ensure that technical solutions align with their needs.
4. Quant Team Collaboration: Work in tandem with the Quant team to enhance models and seamlessly integrate them with the system, leveraging your product knowledge for better integration.
5. Performance Tuning: Utilize your strong background in performance tuning to ensure the system operates efficiently, meeting the demands of EQ derivatives products.
6. Practical Decision-Making: Proactively make decisions and suggest practical solutions in the day-to-day Business As Usual (BAU) operations to maintain system functionality and address emerging challenges.
7. Integration with Other Systems: Develop and integrate with other systems over RESTful APIs and various network protocols to ensure seamless data flow and communication between systems.
8. Support: Provide initial support to users, addressing technical issues and troubleshooting, and communicate effectively with FO to ensure their requirements are met.
