Job Summary

The Data Solution Service Team supports the enterprise data and AI platform for the country, encompassing platform engineering, business application development, operations, and production support. We are a dynamic team of experts in infrastructure, full-stack development, data engineering, AI/LLM, and data operations. Together, we build a robust data and AI backbone, solve complex business challenges, and continuously evolve in a fast-changing technological landscape.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Platform Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of our data and AI platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in:
•    Data Platform Engineering: Expertise in Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, HBase, Kafka, etc.).
•    AI/LLM Technologies: Familiarity with vector databases, unstructured data processing pipelines, and common RAG frameworks.
•    Data Management Platforms: Experience in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality system design and implementation.
•    Coding Proficiency: Strong coding skills (Java, Spark, etc.) with the ability to conduct code reviews and ensure team code quality.
•    Communication Skills: Fluency in both English and Mandarin.
•    Leadership: Proven team management and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business*
•    Design and deliver big data platform pipelines (batch and real-time), including data ingestion, ETL, streaming, data services, and API integration.
•    Develop in-house tools and integrate vendor products.
•    Integrate AI platform data sources and build portions of the AI pipeline (e.g., RAG, vector databases), excluding core AI/LLM algorithms handled by other teams.
•    Deploy, enhance, and integrate data management platforms (metadata, data lineage, data quality).
•    Participate in ongoing data and AI project solution design and development, potentially taking on solution and delivery lead roles.
•    Ensure solution architecture aligns with group standards and manage technical risks accordingly.

People & Talent*
•    Lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
•    Drive skill set upgrades to keep pace with rapidly evolving data and AI technologies.
•    Contribute to resource and project planning.
 

Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
•    15+ years of experience in data platform/application delivery.
•    Broad expertise in at least three of the following domains:
o    Programming & Frameworks: Java, Spark, Python, Microservices, API.
o    Data Processing: ETL, data modeling, real-time data processing.
o    Hadoop Ecosystem: Hive, HBase, Kafka, ELK.
o    AI Technologies: RAG, AI agents, classic ML, ML-Ops, vector databases.
o    OS, Database & DevOps: RDBMS, OS, Network, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
•    Proven team and project management experience, with confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
•    Strong communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
