Job Summary
• Provide accurate and timely pre-processing, scanning, registration, custody and handover of documentary trade and client instructions.
• Support delivery of agreed turnaround times, robust operational controls and complete transaction records across Core Trade Operations.
• Contribute to safe, compliant and client-focused trade processing in line with Group policies, local regulations and conduct standards.
• Deliver excellent client service to the bank’s client.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Document Intake and Pre-processing
• Receive and time-stamp Final Exchange Control Documents, input reference details, register instructions and scan them to the processing team
• Scan all registered documents to the processing team, generate the Automated shipping document (ASD) report and upload shipping documents to ASD.
Processing Control, Custody and Reporting
• Prepare PPS and document checks for Letters of Credit (LC) and Bills for collection (BFC) originals, monitor workflow movement to the maker queue and hand over documents to processors against signed registers.
• Maintain secure custody of unprocessed documents, escalate outstanding items promptly and report daily status, including processed, pending and misrouted transactions.
FECD and Client Instructions
• Receive and time-stamp final exchange control documents (FECDs), input reference details, register instructions on TD and scan them to the processing team
• Register local-product instructions and hand them over promptly to the appropriate desk officer.
Risk, Governance and Conduct
• Execute activities in accordance with product programmes, country addenda, sanctions requirements, anti-money laundering procedures, legal and compliance policies and local regulations.
• Identify and escalate suspicious activity, operational-risk issues, control breaches and turnaround-time exceptions to the line manager and relevant risk stakeholders.
• Support business monitoring, audits, assurance reviews, business continuity arrangements and implementation of regulatory changes.
• Display exemplary conduct, live the Group’s valued behaviours and support fair client outcomes, effective financial markets, financial crime compliance and the right environment.
Additional Operational Responsibilities
• Support Foreign Exhange (FX) utilisation for loan liquidation and related reconciliation activities.
• Support loan-extension processing and follow up with the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) London team.
• Maintain accurate registers and records for pre-processing, scanning, safekeeping, post-processing, dispatch, endorsements, substitutions, archival and applicable local products.

Qualifications
Key Experiences
• Operational experience in trade services, including documentary trade processing, document handling, scanning, registration and custody controls.
• Working knowledge of trade products, process flows, relevant regulations, accounting rules and service-quality principles.
• Experience managing multiple tasks under pressure while meeting control standards and agreed turnaround times.
Certifications / Qualifications
• University degree or equivalent qualification.
Languages
• English – professional working proficiency.
