JOB SUMMARY
Data and data quality are becoming increasingly important to Financial Institutions.
Our ability to accomplish business initiatives and meet regulatory requirements is becoming more and more dependent on our ability to source, manage and maintain both our data and data quality accurately, successfully, and fully for all our end users.
Alveo (known as Asset Control) is the application of choice for the CIB business to supply market data and reference data , including corporate action information to the FSS groups.
The firm has made an ongoing decision that it also wants to streamline its data platforms to be compliant with regulatory guidelines and resolve any operational inefficiency.
To ensure this ongoing programme is a success and that the company objectives are achieved, the Financing & Securities Services (FSS) business is looking for an experienced, hands-on candidate to fill the role of a Product Owner to drive a culture of operational excellence and deliver sustainable outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Product Owner in our cross-functional squads, you will drive the outcomes of the squad to deliver on their objectives and key results. You will build and prioritise the product backlog to achieve business goals and manage stakeholder relationships to align expectation, prioritisation, and overall product roadmap.
• Develop and implement the Data Operations strategy ensuring value add and global alignment.
• Determine Business & Operational Objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Working with senior stakeholders across business and technology to elicit, clarify, translate and simplify data requirements.
• Conduct impact analysis on proposed changes and work with data consumers to integrate changes
• Provide business case and insights into opportunities for cost and control improvements related to data provision and consumption
• Work closely with Head of Technology platforms to drive strategic solutions / proposals aligned with the product roadmap – focusing on long term efficiency, risk reduction, regulatory compliance and lowering time-to-market for meeting business initiatives
• Lead and influence solution design support for optimising data provision and consumption
• Manage and monitor the progress of the wider team to ensure that Functional Specifications and operating model designs are understood & implemented correctly
• Manage communications to the user community during the implementation of new functionalities
• Support the test team & business users during the testing phase by making design calls & assisting in issue analysis & resolution
• Support the transition to BAU teams to ensure operational readiness.
• Contribute to establishing data management governance best practices specifically in the Asset Control estate, and more generally across the wider team
Qualification
• We are looking for talented individuals who can be effective leaders with functional and operational expertise.
• You must be a strong communicator who builds trust-based relationships within the squad and amongst stakeholders.
• 10+ year experience and proven knowledge in the Product ownership and/or Product development
• 5+ years in Agile as a Product Owner (preferably in Fund Services Operations) ,strong skills of maintaining and prioritizing a backlog with good understanding of technology systems.
• Deep understanding of industry trends and client needs, ability to create a value proposition and a squad vision.
• Demonstrated track record of leading teams to deliver objectives.
• Previously coached and mentored team members with regular feedback sessions
• Previously defined product requirements and development roadmap based on functional expertise
• Scrum Master, Product Owner certification (or equivalent) is a plus
• Strong prioritization and analytical skills to manage backlog for the squad.
• Strong communication skills to synchronize tasks, clarify requirements and delivery expectations with stakeholders
• Good to have knowledge of design thinking frameworks, user stories and customer journeys
