Job Summary
This is a VP, Data Scientist role in Standard Chartered CIB Credit Transformation programme. The candidate is expected to serve as Senior Product Owner under Credit AI stream within the CIB Credit Transformation programme. This strategic position will spearhead the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions to enhance credit operations and deliver measurable business value. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence (including GenAI) and Data Science with proven Product Leadership capabilities and comprehensive understanding of credit risk processe
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end product development of advanced AI and GenAI solutions across CIB Credit, from ideation to production, in partnership with Product Managers, Engineering, UX, and Data teams.
· Drive measurable business impact through AI-led credit process efficiency, reduced TAT, early portfolio risk signals, and enhanced client insights from transactional and behavioural data.
· Help design and deploy production-grade generative AI solutions using state-of-the-art frameworks.
· Own delivery quality, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement for high-impact internal and vendor AI use cases.
· Act as a Credit Data Science SME, driving innovation across Client Coverage through strong data governance, alternate data onboarding, and clear, actionable, data-backed insights.
· Be responsible for the Backlog Management & Prioritization along with the Stakeholder Engagement & Communication required for the AI initiatives.
· Work with UX team and product managers to convert AI results to actionable outcomes and responsible for the quality and fit-for-purpose development of AI products.
Skills and Experience
• Min. 15 years of work experience working on AI solution in banking domain.
• NLP/LLM/Gen AI (Expert) - Design, develop, and implement generative AI Language Models based POCs, utilizing state-of-the-art models such as GPTs, LLaMAs, and frameworks (such as RAG) in industrial settings. A high-level understanding of Agentic AI solution.
· Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Expert) - Design and develop AI models and leverage metrics to support predictions, recommendations, automation, and growth strategies. Deep understanding of traditional ML techniques such as classification, clustering, deep learning, optimization methods, supervised and unsupervised techniques.
· Programming (Advance) - Proficient and hands-on on SQL, Python and ML libraries. Good understanding of deep learning and GenAI architectures and applicability in Banking domain.
· Data Analysis and Visualisation (Core) - Scopes and shapes business problems into feasible and specific data analysis problem statements. Interprets data according to defined requirements to obtain business insights.
