Title: Associate Director, Group Investigations Operations & Analytics

Job Summary
GI (Group Investigations) is responsible for triaging and investigation of whistleblowing concerns and misconduct concerns raised by the Business’/Functions in the Bank. The GI Insights & Analytics team is responsible for generating MI reports for stakeholders across the Bank on these concerns. The activity involves requirement gathering, collation, transformation and consolidation of data as per the criteria defined & providing the data in a meaningful format.
The person in this role will support the team in its reporting deliverables and other data-strategy projects related to development and deployment of new tools or applications aimed at optimising the data processing and MI processes. The role envisages working with confidential and sensitive data and liaising with stakeholders across GI and other businesses / functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and analyse key MI requirements and convert them into meaningful reports.
- Understand GI data and definitions, perform data quality checks and assess the appropriateness and proportionality of the MI reports on an ongoing basis.
- Design and operationalise new report formats and create dashboards whilst employing new tools and technology to optimise efficiency and improve quality of reporting.
- To ensure TAT, delivery SLA, data accuracy, security and confidentiality are maintained.
- Contribute to Governance framework by updating and maintaining the process documents for the team and optimising maker-checker process flows.
- Build strong partnerships with all internal/external stakeholders that allow end-to-end seamless delivery.
- Contribute to the requirements and testing of GI case management system.
- Assist in weekly/monthly data processing and reporting cycles. The activities may involve data gathering, collation, transformation, and consolidation of data as per the criteria defined & providing the data in a meaningful format.
- Deliver these reports to the stakeholders while ensuring TAT, delivery SLA, data accuracy, security and confidentiality are maintained.
- Deliver other data strategy projects related to development and deployment of new tools or technology aimed at improving reporting capabilities and quality of the MI. This may include leveraging on existing EDMp platform, data transformation and visualisation tools such as Dataiku and Tableau.
- Where required, liaise with stakeholders to understand and analyse key requirements and convert them into logical solutions and meaningful reports.
- Understand GI data and definitions, the flow of this data across the various stakeholders in the Bank and the value the MI adds.
- Design report formats & create dashboards. Perform bespoke data analysis to provide strong reporting & analytical insights/information to support decision making process for the relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Analyse opportunities for automation, provide input for the same and potentially liaise with technology or relevant teams on automation of reports.
Skills and Experience
- Professional with analytics experience (7-10 years) preferably in financial services, – ability to collect, manipulate and analyse complex data to prepare reports, which maybe in the form of visualizations like graphs, charts and dashboards in support of investigations.
- Proven experience in extracting, transforming and analysing data and working with data lakes and Dataiku Server for data preparation and machine learning workflows.
- Advanced Excel VBA skills and strong SQL and python skills with experience in ETL tools and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Knowledge and familiarity with data modelling, database design and APIs for data extraction.
- Analytical mindset – Able to detect outliers by observing movements and trends in data. Be able to investigate issues and identify the drivers.
- Demonstrable track record of showing good quality judgement providing concise, accurate, thorough and well-structured analysis (both verbally and in writing).
- Well developed, flexible interpersonal skills appropriate at all levels of engagement within an organisation: ability to simplify complex and technical issues for non-technical audience.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects with demonstrable organizational and time management skills.
- Effective collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organisational skills with ability to lead on them independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
