Job Summary

The Associate Director, Regulatory Exam Management and Advocacy, T&O Governance will support the coordination and management of the Bank’s regulatory examinations and supervisory reviews for the in-scope regulators, as well as the development and execution of T&O’s regulatory engagement and advocacy agenda and strategy.

This role will focus on ensuring effective internal coordination, timely responses to regulatory requests, and strong organizational readiness for regulatory scrutiny. This role works closely with compliance, risk and business teams to facilitate exam preparation, documentation, and follow-up activities. This role will also help shape T&O’s key regulatory policy positions, coordinate contributions from T&O stakeholders and support T&O participation in external industry bodies and regulatory engagements.

The role requires an understanding of regulatory engagement process, strong written communication and analytical skills and the ability to drive regulatory engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end coordination of regulatory examinations, inspections, and supervisory reviews.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across T&O and the wider Bank to ensure timely, consistent, and accurate responses to regulatory requests.
  • Support preparation of regulatory submissions, document production, and exam-related materials.
  • Track regulatory findings, recommendations, and commitments to support timely remediation.
  • Assist with coordination of communications with regulatory authorities during examinations, as needed.
  • Prepare internal briefings and materials related to regulatory examinations and supervisory interactions.
  • Monitor regulatory feedback and support improvements in policies, controls and processes.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful regulatory exam management information (MI), reporting and communication material, to provide senior stakeholders with clear, concise and timely information.
  • Support the design, documentation and operation of regulatory advocacy processes for T&O, including opportunities and advocacy mapping, contributing to consultation responses, attending industry meetings, proactively engaging and updating stakeholders.
  • Utilise regulatory horizon scanning to identify current and emerging regulatory developments across key topics, e.g. technology, resilience, third parties, data, AI, ICS, financial crime, and provide assessments and summaries for T&O.
  • Assist in building and implementing regulatory engagements processes for T&O, such as regulatory visits or meetings.
  • Ensure high standards of written communication, execution discipline and attention to detail in all outputs.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 5-7 years in regulatory engagement, regulatory horizon-scanning, risk governance, non-financial risk management, or related field.
  • Track record of helping manage regulatory engagements.
  • Experience in coordinating and producing regulatory related communication and information pack, including exam management.
  • Prior experience performing regulatory horizon-scanning and regulatory analysis or related activities preferred.
  • Track record of helping manage direct engagements with regulators, particularly regulators in key markets (e.g., PRA).
  • Prior experience managing regulatory requests for information preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations on technology risk, information & cyber-security, operational resilience, data & AI, and third-party risk.
  • Understanding of managing regulatory change, especially as pertains to technology, information & cyber security, operational resilience, data & AI, and third party in a large (financial) institution beneficial.
