Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank seeks a Delivery Lead for Prime & Clearing projects. You'll plan, track, report, and collaborate with the Product Owner on Agile plans, manage the backlog, and set sprint goals. Responsibilities include governance, updates, and risk management. Assess risks and changes for decisions, clarify deliverables, and resolve blockers. Strong stakeholder relationships are vital for success. Identify and mitigate issues affecting costs and timelines, and support Project Managers for successful releases. This role requires leadership, communication, and proactive problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Prime & Clearing Delivery and the projects which fall within the program remit.
  • Ensure overall planning, tracking and reporting of all milestones, tasks and deliverables including inter-dependencies across all work-streams and technology partners are well managed, and provide oversight when other Project Managers have been assigned to any projects..
  • Develop, own and manage the plans, backlog and sprint objectives for successful delivery within the Agile framework.
  • Prioritising and re-planning with the Product Owner or stakeholders to maximise delivery of business benefits from the capabilities developed.
  • Setup the project governance and preparing/presenting quality updates on progress, key risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, constraints and seek their support to remove roadblocks.
  • Quantify the impact on time, cost and quality of risks, issues and change requests to the relevant working group or refinement segments, enabling them to make informed decisions and assist in prioritisation or removing blockers.
  • Lead the project team providing, working closely with the PO and key stakeholders to ensure deliverables and direction for each project member are clear, and facilitate the removal of blockers preventing the overall project team from achieving the project milestones/objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Product Owners, key stakeholders and technology partners to ensure successful project delivery
  • Proactively identify and mitigate issues/risks which may have an impact on costs/delivery timelines, and raise these to the required governance forums.
  • Provide direction and help to the Project Managers or Squads working on OTC Clearing when they face blockers or issues.
  • Contributing to consistent successful change releases with zero tolerance for failed or emergency releases.
  • Working with the delivery team to ensure solutions agreed are scalable, in alignment with strategic architecture and incorporates risk-based considerations.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of working on medium to large projects which involve full front-to-back trade execution to post-trade activities for the Cleared Derivatives business
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight & stringent deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of Prime Services and Cleared Derivatives (OTC Cleared and Exchange Traded Derivatives) which are traded/offered by both the SCB House and Prime Business Areas. 
  • Financial Markets and a good understanding of Straight Through Processing (STP) flows from front to back office systems
  • Experience using Cleared Derivatives Back Office System, eg Ion XTP or Ransys, FIS GMI, UBIX, Clearvision
  • Fluent in ADO or relevant workflow tools to track the project backlog, milestones and timelines
  • Experience in working on multiple project portfolios, scheduling, resources planning, ensuring projects are completed at a high level of quality, within projected budgets, scopes and schedules.
  • Fluent in Confluence or relevant tools to document the results of analysis in a structured and consistent manner
  • Skilled in analysing and documenting detailed data mapping/lineage tables, diagrams and Data Dictionaries to facilitate data flow and integration across multiple applications.
