Job Summary

Director of Governance Services (Property, People & Projects) will be responsible for Organizational Design, Property Footprint, Ways of Working (WFH strategy), location strategy, talent acquisition, skills of the future, Fit for Growth (FFG) People Stream support on strategic initiatives including coordination on key initiatives and over various phases for T&O Governance. This role will ensure that our governance practices in circa. 30+ projects across Technology and Operations are robust, consistent, and aligned with industry best practices, and above all, well-coordinated with relevant stakeholders across the function and the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy

  • Support the T&O strategy for people, vendor, workforce and locations.
  • Support the Head of Governance Services to deliver the effectiveness of the operational excellence agenda primarily through close partnership with CRE on property optimisation and allocation. This also requires close collaboration with the Lead for Cost and Efficiency, as well as Workforce & Performance Management. Note, MI associated with what-if analyses for Property footprint, utilization, and behaviour change / trend for the work force are amongst many deliverables.

  • Preparation for, and facilitation of, “critical path” strategic meetings with a view to ensure delivery of intended outcomes in the most efficient and effective manner in relation to cost.
  • Develop metrics and track KPIs for management actions and for reporting as / when required.
  • Influences the T&O delivery responses and solutions to critical business problems.
  • Drive the development and adoption of common foundation systems, components and services to be used by different businesses/ functions/ geographies.
  • Maintenance of the T&O Governance Service catalogue and champion our services across T&O.
  • Provide support to prioritise Change and cost out initiatives and conceptualise the framework. 
  • Sustain focus & communication of various initiatives to senior members of the Management team. 
  • Ensure proper visibility and branding of T&O Governance and the broader T&O Business team within and outside the organisation.
  • Ensure regular/relevant reporting from Governance office.
  • Communicate relevant messages to specified groups from Governance office.

Governance

  • Coordination/orchestration of governance deliverables or commitments directly involving the heads with a view to actively manage any conflicting interest and views to create alignment towards common T&O MT agenda and goals, particularly around financials.
  • Support the effective delivery of the operational excellence agenda through management of infrastructure and the people agenda (including resourcing, capability and capacity and demand & supply).
  • Close collaboration with HR on employee initiatives targeted for T&O. Strong coordination across Bank (specific HR teams, Strategy, FFG, etc.) to develop and support People Strategy and to meet new challenges for the Bank.
  • Strong PM skills in driving governance in c. 30 projects across T&O from change initiatives to BAU.
  • Originating and updating of various strategic documents (PPT, Excel, Word etc) for key meetings on an adhoc basis, especially for project governance.
  • Support the establishment and operation of an internal control framework to provide management the necessary assurance by conducting proactive assessments on agreed frequency for all critical governance forums.
  • Evaluate the impact of new and changing firm-wide / industry wide / governance requirements and enhance the governance framework on an ongoing basis to maintain its adequacy.
  • Regularly support the internal Governance Forum to demonstrate robust management control approach & awareness.
  • Ensure necessary management awareness and focus to critical issues / actions originating from all group governance forums, particularly relating to Financials.
  • Provide support for identification of Management metrics applicable to the Senior Manager & the management team, particularly relating to Financials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering preferred.  
  • 10+ years in analytics and project management, with extensive exposure to metrics, what-if analyses, project and stakeholder management in an international firm, preferably in Financial Services.
  • Track record of strong stakeholder management skills, and ability to influence workstreams and working groups to ensure good project governance, and to deliver a common and strategic goal.
  • High proficiency in management metrics and key performance indicators, especially relating to people, property, and project governance.
  • Understand and experience in top-down and bottom-up approaches in change management and associated challenges on execution.
  • Highly quantitative and with demonstrated ability to design and deliver the effectiveness of the operational excellence agenda primarily through close partnership with CRE on property optimisation and allocation.
  • Prior experience on location strategy at the business and function level preferred.
  • Understanding of managing regulatory change, especially as pertains to technology, information & cyber security, operational resilience, data & AI, and third party in a large (financial) institution beneficial.
  • Business Facilitation: Leading initiatives to improve Client experience, efficiency, and cost management  
  • Risk Managment.
  • Fluent in English bot verbal and written.
