Job summary

As a Java Developer, Prime & Derivatives Clearing Technology, you will be responsible for technical development and implementation, focusing on core Java, Spring Boot, and optionally Spring Cloud. You'll work with frontend technologies like React and Webpack, and manage databases using Oracle. Key tools include Git and Azure ADO/Confluence. Your role involves writing unit tests, participating in code reviews, and maintaining code quality using SonarQube.

You will collaborate closely with team leaders and the Warsaw-based team, participate in agile ceremonies, and communicate technical updates effectively. You'll also manage technical risks, adhere to regulatory standards, and document technical implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Write unit tests (JUnit) to validate core Java logic and Spring Boot API endpoints.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Use SonarQube to identify and fix code quality issues (e.g., code smells, security vulnerabilities)
• Work closely with Team leader to break down tasks and estimate effort during sprint planning.
• Document technical implementations (e.g., API specifications, database schema changes).
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects reported in production environments
• Assist in maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git for version control and Azure ADO CI for automation
• Communicate technical updates and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Adapt to agile methodologies and actively participate in cross-team collaboration to meet project goals.
• Translate technical requirements into actionable tasks for developers and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning) and adapt to changing priorities
• Identify technical risks in implementations (e.g., insecure API design, third-party library vulnerabilities) and escalate promptly.
• Follow regulatory standards (e.g., data privacy, audit trails) in code and documentation
  
• Develop and maintain platform components according to SCB’s SDLC guidelines (code quality, version control, release processes)

Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on development experience with Java and relational databases.
• Solution design and development expertise with Java/JEE, Java Spring, REST API, microservices
• Exposure to DevOps tool sets and techniques (e.g. Atlassian Bamboo)
• Exposure to Prime Services, Exchange Traded Derivatives Clearing applications eg Clearvision, UBIX, ION XTP, GMI, Ransys, and/or FM Post Trade Systems is preferred.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development proces
• Proactive in solving technical blockers and optimizing legacy code
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Exposure to distributed systems challenges (e.g., concurrency, idempotency) or financial systems (e.g., trading platforms, risk engines).
• Interest in learning domain-specific tools (e.g., Kafka for event streaming, Quartz for scheduling).
