Title: Lead Data Engineering

Job Summary
The main objective of this role is to actively participate in Treasury innovation and digitalisation programme, through creating and embedding in-house data-driven solutions for stakeholders globally. Our goal is to help influence top-level decision-making process. We aim to achieve that by providing critical, data-driven business insights via developing and introducing advanced analytical tools. This requires combining technical know-how (e.g. systems, data, programming) with a commercial mindset (business opportunities, regulatory constraints).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of data storing, processing and visualization architecture shared among number of projects in an existing data lake environment ensuring it is robust, scalable and cost effective.
Ensure seamless co-functioning of different data pipes / streams and establish common layers where appropriate. - Cooperate with both technical and non-technical parties across departments to adjust analytical solutions to business requirements.
- Establish relationships with data owners to gain understanding of available resources, flow of information and ways in which information can be leverage.
- Work with data engineers to prepare and integrate data from various data sources for usage by multiple business use-cases.
- Actively expand checks and controls framework to capture potential risks / errors before they materialise.
- Drive migration of business reporting process onto strategic infrastructure (SAP) and identify opportunities for further improvements.
- Train, lead and support junior team members in developing data workflows and solutions.
- Support data chapter governance activities (data products inventory, code review, best practices, etc.).
Skills and Experience
Requirements (must have)
- Higher education in one of the following fields: Information Technology, Data Analytics, Big Data, etc. combined with +5 years of relevant work experience.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to take initiative, prioritize and drive things with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, able to adjust the messaging to audience (from squad member to senior stakeholder).
- Openminded and willing to upskill both from technical and business perspective (e.g. financial markets, products traded, performance metrics, etc.
- Experience in designing architecture of data storage and processing workflows in an existing big data / data lake environment.
- Experience in building end-to-end data pipelines from requirements gathering through data sourcing and transformations until displaying results as part of actionable analytics dashboards.
- Experience in Python, Spark, Hive and other big data technologies.
- Experience in ETL and data engineering.
- Experience in relational databases and SQL.
Advantages (good to have)
- Experience in Dataiku data platform or with SAP cloud technologies.
- Experience in UI / UX design.
- Prior background in banking environment would be an asset, ideally delivering analytics in Treasury space.
