Job Summary

Standard Chartered Bank is looking for a Senior Business Analyst. In this role, you will assess processes, anticipate needs, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop user stories within an Agile framework.
Your responsibilities will include creating comprehensive test cases and assisting delivery teams. You will analyze data to assess potential risks and coordinate to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
You will define clear implementation plans, provide regular updates, and monitor any risks. Establishing effective communication plans and managing change requests efficiently will be key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Assisting technology stakeholders in exploring solutions appropriate to meet the operational and business/functional requirements defined.
  • Working with business and technology stakeholders to elicit business requirements and produce user stories in an Agile model
  • Working with stakeholders to draft test cases which can be traced back to the requirements;
  • Support technology delivery and testing teams in solution delivery and implementation
  • Writing test cases, analysing testing data, test flows and testing strategies.
  • Address defects and risk evaluation and mitigation
  • Coordinating with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules. Ensure that the project is managed in line with good project management practices
  • Define and formulate the implementation plan (including key dependencies, resource requirements and interlocks
  • Provide periodic project updates to project working group and steering committees
  • Define and monitor at a work stream level key risk and issues and manage them as defined in PMP guidelines
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Conducting post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate issues/risks which may have an impact on costs/delivery timelines, and raise these to the required governance forums.
  • Provide direction and help to the Squads when they face blockers or issues.
  • Contributing to consistent successful change releases with zero tolerance for failed or emergency releases.
  • Working with the delivery team to ensure solutions agreed are scalable, in alignment with strategic architecture and incorporates risk-based considerations.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of working on medium to large projects which involve full front-to-back trade execution to post-trade activities for the Cleared Derivatives business.
  • Knowledge of Prime Services and Cleared Derivatives (OTC Cleared and Exchange Traded Derivatives) which are traded/offered by both the SCB House and Prime Business Areas.  
  • Financial Markets and a good understanding of Straight Through Processing (STP) flows from front to back office systems.
  • Experience using Cleared Derivatives Key Application Solutions, ie Ion XTP, Osttra TRM, Markitwire, Tradeserv, Murex.
  • Fluent in ADO or relevant workflow tools to track the project backlog, milestones and timelines.
  • Fluent in Confluence or relevant tools to document the results of analysis in a structured and consistent manner.
  • Skilled in analysing and documenting detailed data mapping/lineage tables, diagrams and Data Dictionaries to facilitate data flow and integration across multiple applications.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to engage, influence and independently drive outcomes effectively across stakeholder groups, from working level through to senior management.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight  & stringent deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
