Job summary
As a Senior Java Developer in Prime & Derivatives Clearing Technology, you will be responsible for technical development and implementation, focusing on core Java, Spring Boot, and optionally Spring Cloud. You'll work with frontend technologies like React and Webpack, and manage databases using Oracle. Key tools include Git and Azure ADO/Confluence. Your role involves writing unit tests, participating in code reviews, and maintaining code quality using SonarQube
You will collaborate closely with developers and architects to design scalable solutions aligned with strategic architecture, considering potential risks for long-term reliability. Staying updated on technical trends and supporting the evolution of the technology stack and platform will be crucial. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance the Prime Services platform using Java for data processing, Spring Boot for microservices, and React for front-end applications, ensuring seamless integration
In this senior role, you will work closely with team leaders and the Warsaw-based team, participate in agile ceremonies, and communicate technical updates effectively. You will also manage technical risks, adhere to regulatory standards, and document technical implementations

Key Responsibilities
- Work with developers and architects to design scalable solutions aligned with strategic architecture, considering potential risks for long-term reliability.
- Stay updated on technical trends and support the evolution of the technology stack and platform.
- Introduce industry practices and tools to optimize efficiency, performance, and cost of the Prime Services platform.
- Maintain and enhance the Prime Services platform using Java for data processing, Spring Boot for microservices, and React for front-end applcations, ensuring seamless integration
- Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Support release stability by following development and testing best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Bangalore, Tianjin, vendors) for smooth deployments.
- Basic experience with middleware, caching, and Spring/JVM troubleshooting.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with the Warsaw team to deliver high-quality code and solutions.
- Contribute technical expertise to Prime Services projects through code reviews, problem-solving, and best practice sharing.
- Collaborate with peers to design and implement scalable technical solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
- Share knowledge on Java/Spring framework best practices and emerging technologies to elevate team capabilities.
Skills and Experience
- 6+ Years of Java/J2EE Experience: Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts (inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation)
- Solution design and development expertise with Java/JEE, Java Spring, REST API, microservices
- Exposure to DevOps tool sets and techniques (e.g. Atlassian Bamboo)
- Exposure to Prime Services, Exchange Traded Derivatives Clearing applications eg Clearvision, UBIX, ION XTP, GMI, Ransys, and/or FM Post Trade Systems.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development proces
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) for basic schema design and query optimization.
- Multi-threading Knowledge: Understand concurrent processing and basic thread synchronization.
- JVM Performance Tuning: Familiar with memory management and basic garbage collection optimization.
- RESTful API Design: Ability to design basic resource-based APIs with standard HTTP methods.
- Testing Frameworks: Familiar with unit testing tools (e.g., Mockito
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of message queuing concepts (topics, consumers)
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability to agile methodologies and cross-team collaboration.
