Market Risk Platform (MRP) is Standard Chartered’s financial risk consolidation, aggregation and reporting platform for Market Risk. The development team is a world class technology group in Standard Chartered bank to provide technical solutions to support the bank’s Financial Markets business as well as support requirements from other projects with a wider scope such as regulatory books of work. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of highly visible strategic programmes with the primary responsibilities around building components within the MRP platform. Any developed solution must be scalable, robust and fault tolerant catering to the existing and future business needs in a timely manner. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop innovative solutions with a view to these being released quickly to gain feedback before advising on the full scale roll out.

The candidate will be expected to take ownership, responsibility and accountability for critical components, and will have come from a mature and demonstrable agile background and be comfortable dealing with the resistance that comes with change. The candidate is expected to work in a dynamic global team with business analysts, project managers, business stakeholders and other technical experts across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end automated testing framework, including SIT, Performance and Regression testing as a part of Market Risk Platform.
• Provide management, technical leadership and direction to internal Automation Testing team on the design, development, implementation, and deployment of automation testing framework.
• Proactively collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, to ensure that automation tests are developed aligned to user stories and the appropriate test approach.
• As required, participate in core automation alongside the team.
• Strictly enforce and maintain adherence to best practices in the area of automated testing.
• Participate in estimation, planning, and costing of new projects and initiatives across multiple metrics.
• Researching emerging trends and technologies in the test automation field, facilitating continuous improvement in the discipline and driving forward the test automation strategy.
• Providing clear, concise reporting for test automation progress, results, and coverage, ensuring that Test Managers, Project Managers and other stakeholders are empowered with the required information.
• Coaching and mentoring other test professionals in the area of test automation (technical and conceptual aspects), to develop their skills and expertise, and to enhance the capability of the automation discipline.

Skills and experience

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the test automation domain, with a focus on designing and implementing automation strategies and frameworks for large-scale banking systems.
• Excellent leadership skills to motivate and guide team members, ensuring productivity and timely project completion.
• Strong understanding of software quality best practices and processes, with experience in a broad range of testing practices.
• Extensive experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including Java, Cucumber, Selenium, REST-Assured, LoadRunner/JMeter, and Playwright/Cypress.
• Good experience in implementing data reconciliation, data comparison, and data validation using Python pandas, requests, and json libraries.
• Data analysis skills and Experience using relational databases and SQL (such as PostgreSQL or Oracle)
• Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
