Job Summary

 

Associate Director, CFCR Advisory is part of the SCB AG Compliance team and will support activities in the AG market - Germany and France, being located in Warsaw.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure compliance of Standard Chartered activities in AG (Germany and France), EEA, and other relevant countries with all laws and standards (especially for the CIB Business).
  • Support to the Frankfurt headquarters to oversee SCB AG’s Exchange Membership, ensuring compliance with Exchange rulebooks.
  • Support the Head CFCR Advisory, SCB AG in overseeing outsourced Control Room processes, regularly exchanging with the service provider on processes, and control results. 
  • Assist with regulatory queries, investigations, audits, reviews (internal and external), and resolution of related matters.
  • Identify training needs, assist in preparing a training plan and deliver relevant training to SCB AG staff.
  • Identify and analyse new regulatory initiatives, ensuring necessary Policies, standards and procedures are implemented and staff are trained.
  • Conduct relevant testing, quality assurance work, and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare relevant Management Information and other documentation for escalation and documentation purposes.
  • Work closely with Country Heads of CFCR in France and Sweden and/or other Group Entities on relevant business activities with regards to regulatory matters.
  • Represent CFCR in local meetings, committees, and forums.
  • Maintain the local Compliance SharePoint and folders.
  • Assist in analysing new product initiatives for compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain oversight of outsourced activities and services, ensuring compliance with risk requirements.
  • Help implement a comprehensive compliance and control framework for SCB in Germany and other EEA countries.
  • Assist in rolling out SCB AG policies, procedures, and other initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Long Description

 

  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar Compliance role within a global financial institution.  
  • Sound understanding of the banking and financial industry and their regulatory framework. 
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of relevant EU and German laws and regulations with subject matter expertise in at least one appropriate business line (advanced knowledge of MAR, MiFID II). 
  • Specific knowledge of the Cash and Trade products will be an advantage. 
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation, leveraging resources across the organisation to complete deliverables.
  • Experience of proactively engaging stakeholders across multiple countries/businesses/functions.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
  • German language skills will be an advantage.
