Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. They work across our global network with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and market solutions for our clients. The solutions include varied products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives, to mergers and acquisitions advisory.  

Our Credit Analysts is a person with extensive knowledge of risk assessment and portfolio risk management framework which is used to support our Account Managers with credit reviews, ongoing risk monitoring and client creditworthiness. Credit Analysts also assess Standard Chartered’s risk appetite against market and economic conditions across the different markets and asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead credit reviews, analyse and monitor client credit risk, to ensure creditworthiness. 
  • Provide insightful, succinct and timely client portfolio credit analysis with the focus on Financial Institution clients
  • Accountable for proposing credit grades aligned to scorecards, documenting client risk and mitigants, and monitoring for credit-material events.
  • Partner with Banking, Coverage and Risk teams to develop and execute credit analysis and monitoring relevant matters. 
  • Deliver client fraud risk assessments to defined standards, documenting residual risks and mitigants.
  • Credit intelligence to identify business opportunities with an acceptable risk profile by supporting Relationship Managers, FI Bankers and Product teams with product solutioning and recommendations.
     

Skills and Experience

 

  • Experience in credit risk analysis of Financial Institutions/ Banks and Brokers Dealers (BBD) clients would be preferrable
  • Strong analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk
  • Financial and quantitative skills
  • Product knowledge for Markets and Transaction Banking
  • Knowledge of the financial services' regulatory environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment
  • Well organized, able to multi-task and balance competing demands
