Title: Change and COO Communications Manager (Fix term contract for 6 months)

Job Summary
Group Internal Audit and Investigations (GIAI)’s strategy is to improve and enhance four key areas to help the Function achieve its mission of becoming world leading. These four key areas include: People, Process, Position and Performance. Coupled with this, there have been organisational, functional, people and technology changes which require continued communications to our busy internal audiences. We are looking for someone who has a good theoretical understanding of, and experience in, internal and change communications, can create compelling content, including videos, and is passionate about meeting audience’s needs. You will need to have strong stakeholder engagement skills and be comfortable advising stakeholders on communications strategy and tactics. Organisational skills, attention to detail and excellent written communications skills are also key to this role. This is a newly created contract position to meet the existing and upcoming demands of the Function. It is an exciting, dynamic and fast-paced role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager, Communications in developing communications strategies and tactical plans across the portfolio, including agreeing on a thoughtful approach that meets the audience’s needs and the broader functional and group-wide activities. You’ll need to be able to see the bigger picture and be comfortable operating in the detail.
- Support the Senior Manager to develop communications plans across our Function’s strategy, technology, people and other functional changes or updates. Manage tactical execution, including measuring outcomes.
- Develop and evolve communications plans and content for Diversity & Inclusion activities, ensuring alignment between the Function and Group messages.
- Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment. Act as Communications expert for project teams, developing a position as trusted advisor and partner.
- Manage the administration and content for the WorkVivo page for the Function’s strategy, including creating relevant, timely and accessible content that leads to a greater understanding of the strategy and its benefits. Proficient in using tools such as Poppulo, WorkVivo or Canva, including editing videos or willingness to learn quickly.
- Support Initiative teams to refine or enhance the delivery of their products, particularly where there is a content element, such as training guides, case study stories, videos etc.
- Work with other stakeholders, including Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM) to ensure the communications programmes are created and executed in-step with ongoing BAU communications activities/strategy.
Qualifications
- Exceptional spoken and written English capabilities, with a passion for storytelling.
- A dynamic and resourceful self-starter who can hit the ground running and be a change agent.
- Must have internal communications experience, preferably with experience in change communications programmes within a Financial Services setting.
- Background in organisational behaviour and change management would be an advantage.
- Must demonstrate creativity and a passion for innovation in your work, with a thorough knowledge of the latest communications best practice and trends.
- Strong creative, project management and organisational skills.
- Strong team player, who can interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Self-driven with ability to manage and prioritise multiple assignments.
- Growth mindset, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Understanding/experience in agile ways of working is a plus.
