Title: Manager, Traded Risk

Job Summary
This role covered modelling aspects of Traded Risk stress testing and economic capital requirements for ICAAP including scenario calibration, review and documentation. The individual will be responsible for model risk compliance for the Traded Risk stress testing and ICAAP model uses, requiring close collaboration with model development teams to ensure models are fit for purpose as well as for provide analytical support to SCB AG ERM functions and their relevant processes. Support the Head of Traded Risk on regulatory stress testing requirements and ICAAP modelling requirements, as well as oversight of key stress testing and ICAAP change initiatives and interact with SCB AG TRM teams to ensure consistent approaches regarding stress testing are embedded in the overall TRM processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite through active membership of the Executive Risk Committee and other risk forums.
- Inform the development of business plans with the provision of cost and impairment forecasts and a balanced judgment on the external environment within the region.
- Achieve sound risk management within the country
- Align strategy of the Traded Risk functions with business strategy and risk appetite.
- Communicate the strategic intent and collective agenda for the Functions.
- Maintain and develop the Function's risk capabilities, and skills to meet ongoing needs and plans
- Effectively control all processes where the Traded Risk function is the identified first line process owner.
- Assist to ensure effective management of operational risks within the Traded Risk function and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
- Brainstorm for the operational efficiencies and effectiveness of risk management processes
- Assess periodically the risk profile for SCB AG and its branches, and maintain alignment with risk appetite by rebalancing of risks or controls that may be required in response to internal and external factors.
- Carry out stress tests and scenario programs, review the results and assess their implications. Ensure that effective management response plans are in place to respond to extreme but plausible scenarios.
- Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible governance committees and to Group and business-level committees as appropriate.
- Maintain a good understanding of the requirements of key external stakeholders in respect of risk management and ensure these are well understood internally and reflected in internal procedures
- Maintain delegated authorities in line with internal policies and ensure that delegations are in line with individual capabilities.
- Ensure appropriate judgement is applied in the discharge of risk authorities assigned to the jobholder.
Skills and Experience
- Professional experiences in stress testing and related modelling topics for market and counterparty credit risk.
- Capable of delivery high quality results, with challenging but positive influencing style.
- Degree in a numerate, quotative discipline e.g. science, economics, engineering.
- At least 5 years of banking/banking-related experience.
- Good knowledge of various risk management concepts, that are connected to traded risk.
- Good analytical skills and sound judgement in a rapidly changing and often stressful environment.
- Good business acumen and multicultural sensitivity.
- Possess strong leadership qualities.
- Ideally have knowledge of:
- Traded risk models and methodologies
- Traded risk regulations and guidelines
- Workings of financial markets
- Trading and risk management system platforms
- Possess good verbal and written English communication skills.
