Job Summary

Manager, Treasury Risk – Liquidity acts as the 2LoD (“Risk Controlling”) function and supports the Lead – Treasury Risk - Liquidity to perform risk advisory, review and challenge and risk oversight role across Treasury Risk, including but not limited to Liquidity Risk, Funding Risk, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Credit Spread Risk in the Banking Book (CSRBB), Recovery & Resolution, and Intragroup Credit providing recommendations to key Committees and Senior Management, where relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the independent oversight and challenge of Treasury activities, helping to protect the bank's balance sheet across liquidity, funding, IRRBB and CSRBB risks.
  • Own and continuously enhance IRRBB methodologies, including Economic Value of Equity (EVE) and Net Interest Income (NII) frameworks, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Review, challenge and approve monthly IRRBB reporting, providing meaningful risk insights and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.
  • Partner with Treasury, Finance and Model Development teams as the Second Line of Defence (2LoD) model sponsor for IRRBB models, ensuring compliance with model risk management standards.
  • Review and challenge key balance sheet strategies, including liquidity, funding, hedging activities and treasury investment allocations.
  • Play a leading role in the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP), with a particular focus on liquidity stress testing, scenario design and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and assess regulatory metrics, including LCR, NSFR, EVE and NII, ensuring robust governance of methodologies, assumptions and risk reporting.
  • Identify emerging risks, regulatory developments and material risk drivers, recommending actions to strengthen the bank's risk management framework.
  • Support the development of Risk Appetite Statements, Early Warning Indicators and Risk Inventory assessments for Treasury Risk.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, regulators and governance committees, providing expert advice and influencing key strategic decisions related to balance sheet and treasury risk management.

Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in liquidity and funding management within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and balance sheet risk management.
  • Knowledge of Credit Spread Risk in the Banking Book (CSRBB).
  • Exposure to treasury activities and financial resource management.
  • Experience supporting balance sheet optimization and strategic planning.
  • Understanding of ILAAP processes, including liquidity stress testing and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Education Minimum Degree from An Accredited University and Professional Qualifications (MBA, CPA Etc.)
  • Training: Banking Regulatory Framework, Substantial Experience in the Banking Industry or Consultancy with Specific Expertise in Treasury Activities and Risk Management, Strong Experience in Treasury Markets, Treasury Liquidity, IRRBB And CSRBB
  • Certifications:  Treasury And Balance Sheet Management (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
  • Languages: Business Proficiency in English (Verbal & Written) & German (Not Mandatory)
