Group Internal Audit & Investigations (GIAI) seeks a highly motivated Innovation Manager, with a talent for envisioning the future as we reengineer and continuously improve our processes and ways of working to become the World’s Leading Audit & Investigations function of the future. 

 

The Innovation Manager will be responsible for reviewing, analysing, and implementing new technologies, leading market practices, and business opportunities that will drive innovation within our function, and organisation. You will work closely with the Senior Manager and Director in the Strategy, Change and Innovation team to assess the viability and potential impact of these innovations, provide insights on emerging risks, and contribute to the development of strategic initiatives that will foster continuous improvement. Additionally engage with key stakeholders within GIAI to accelerate and develop prioritised ideas. 

 

The ideal candidate will have practical experience in developing strategic initiatives and innovation vision within an audit, risk or business environment. A confident communicator and intellectually rigorous in their approach – able to work with a range of key stakeholders across a global setting. This position requires an ambitious mindset, confident professional passionate about challenging the status quo, as well as bucket loads of integrity, enthusiasm, and determination. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support Innovation, Identification and Ideation and opportunities for innovation across multiple portfolios / teams in GIAI. Strategically plan and report trends (assisted with data analytics) on the progress and business impact of innovations. Specific Point of Contact for Change Management Support providing recommendations for process improvements based on innovation insights. 
  • Be instrumental in the delivery of the GIAI Strategy
  • Innovate, imagine and challenge – inject your ideas and energy into what we do and why we are doing it; continually improve what we know today. 
  • Be a problem solver and have a proactive approach. 
  • Identify and determine elements of the digital journey that can be improved.
  • Stakeholder engagement interact with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop a general understanding of business strategy, plans, products, processes performance, risks and issues for the portfolio.
  • Working with Technical and Business product owners, understand the complex environment we operate within and how to navigate it effectively. 
  • Understand differing stakeholder perspectives and value propositions, looking for thoughtful and novel ways to communicate with impact and authority on behalf of the project.
  • Work through challenges and issues impacting the project through appropriate channels and escalating mechanisms.
  • Develop and implement solutions that enhance the audit practice, embedding the changes in the function.
  • Manage change through effective relationships, processes, and networks to elicit world class results.
  • Drive change and velocity through delivery, aligned to the Bank’s control and governance requirements. 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or other relevant Professional Qualification.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in innovation management, strategy consulting, market analysis, or a similar field within Financial Services (or FinTech). Internal Audit or risk and control experience desirable, but not essential. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to think creatively and develop actionable insights from complex data.
  • Familiarity with innovation methodologies, such as Design Thinking, Agile, or Lean Startup, is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Integrity and high professional ethics.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and business affairs confidentially as appropriate.
  • Must be pragmatic with the ability to communicate effectively with the highest levels of management and decision-making within the organisation.
  • Ability to challenge and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, SMEs, GIAI Leadership.
  • Adequate self-awareness and confidence to acknowledge knowledge gaps and seek to fill them from reliable sources.
