Job Summary

 

Senior Manager, Treasury Risk act as the 2LoD (“Risk Controlling”) function and performs a Risk advisory, review and challenge and risk oversight role across Treasury Risk, including but not limited to  Liquidity, and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Credit Spread Risk in the Banking Book (CSRBB), Recovery & Resolution, and Intragroup Credit providing recommendations to key Committees and Senior Management, where relevant.

 

The function partners with the 1LoD (Treasury Markets and Treasury) to provide a better risk outcome and optimisation of the balance sheet whilst at the same time providing a strong 2LoD with independent objective recommendations and in line with regulatory feedback / expectations in strengthening risk management and resilience for SCB AG’s balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the 2LOD to the Treasury function and performs a Risk advisory role to ensure the balance sheet across liquidity, IRRBB and CSRBB is protected via risk management and review and challenge of 1LOD processes and provides recommendations to key committees and senior management. 
  • Partner with the 1LOD to provide a better risk outcome and optimisation of balance sheet / P&L whilst at the same time providing a strong 2LOD with independent objective recommendations and staying close to regulatory feedback in strengthening risk management and resilience for the relevant balance sheets.
  • Support Head, Treasury Risk on documenting internal guidelines including, the Risk Type Framework and relevant Policies and Standards. In addition, contribute to the Risk Strategy and Risk Inventory, as well as propose and monitor Risk Appetite and Early Warning Indicators.
  • Regulatory: Prudently oversee and review regulatory metrics including LCR, NSFR, Leverage, CET1 and Total Capital.
  • Corporate Planning: Review and challenge the corporate planning and effectively challenge the linkage to balance sheet forecasting.
  • Liquidity & Funding: Review and challenge Liquidity / IRRBB / CSRBB / funding / hedging strategy / treasury asset allocation investments
  • To proactively identify material drivers of risk as well as change in regulatory requirements and make recommendations for improving risk management.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree from an Accredited University And Professional Qualifications (MBA, CPA ETC.)
  • Substantial Experience at the Highest level in the Banking Industry or Consultancy with Specific Expertise IIn Trasury Activities and Risk Management, Strong Experience in Treasury Markets, Treasury Liquidity, IRRBB AND CSRBB.
  • Treasury and Balance Sheet Management will be an asset
  • Proven experience in people management. 
  • Solid understanding of risk management principles. 
  • Core understanding of the ICAAP framework. 
  • Business Proficiency in English (Verbal & Written).
  • German language skills will be an asset.
