Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Trainer at Standard Chartered's Axess Academy based in Bangalore, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological acumen of our teams through the design, development, and delivery of high-impact training programs aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with the Corporate Learning Centre to identify specific training needs and tailor instructional strategies to meet evolving technological trends and organizational priorities.
- Developing comprehensive instructional materials including detailed course outlines, background resources, practical training aids, and multimedia content to ensure engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Leveraging your expertise to assist in crafting computer-based and multimedia curricula that integrate emerging technologies, including full stack development and API integration.
- Maintaining and constantly enhancing instructional delivery skills, with emphasis on current technologies such as Java, React, DevOps, and Cloud platforms, ensuring content remains relevant and impactful throughout each course's lifecycle.
- Managing the entire training program lifecycle from needs analysis through scheduling, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement while adhering to Quality Management System protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinating logistics for classroom and virtual training sessions, including organizing venues, multimedia support, simulators, and workshops, while working effectively with internal teams to ensure seamless experience for all participants.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records and curriculum databases to measure impact and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Overseeing the upkeep and function of training facilities and equipment to support optimal learning environments.
- Leading deployment of targeted training sessions, ensuring proper engagement with diverse learner groups across multiple technology domains.
- Exhibiting and promoting exemplary conduct aligned with Standard Chartered's Values and Code of Conduct, embedding a culture of ethics, compliance, and integrity throughout all training activities.
- Proactively identifying and addressing risks related to conduct and compliance within training programs, working collaboratively to escalate and resolve issues promptly.
Your role will require a dynamic approach to delivering both traditional instructor-led training and adopting innovative technologies that cater to changing workforce needs, preparing our teams to excel in a fast-paced and digitally transformative banking environment.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will possess deep expertise and hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Data Science and Machine Learning: Understanding of algorithms, data processing techniques, and practical applications relevant to banking technology solutions.
- Cloud and DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, containerization, and automation to effectively train on scalable infrastructure management.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java and Python to deliver comprehensive coding and software development instruction.
- Web Development: Expertise in JavaScript, React, and API programming, with the ability to demonstrate and teach frontend and backend integrations.
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, adaptability to various learner needs, and the ability to leverage innovative training tools and methodologies. Experience in coordinating training logistics, conducting needs analyses, and evaluating training effectiveness is essential to support continuous learning and development within the organization.
Qualifications
Applicants are expected to hold the following qualifications and competencies to be successful in this role:
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, combined with 7-12 years of progressive experience in technology training.
- Comprehensive skillset as a full stack technical trainer, including knowledge and practical skills in Java, JavaScript, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, React, SQL and NoSQL databases, DevOps tools and practices, RESTful APIs, Cloud platforms, and secure coding standards.
- Proven experience in delivering, coordinating, and maintaining training Management Information Systems (MIS) for monitoring and reporting training activities.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, enabling effective preparation of training materials, reports, and presentations.
- Strong communication capabilities coupled with keen attention to detail, ensuring clarity and precision throughout instructional delivery and documentation.
- Robust analytical and logical problem-solving skills, enabling tailored training solutions that address technical challenges.
- Demonstrated organizational, people management, and project management skills with a focus on detail orientation and effective collaboration.
