TITLE: Assistant Relationship Manager (Standard Chartered Bank)
LOCATION: New York, NY
DUTIES: Build and maintain relationships with clients, independently generate ideas/pitches, and deepen existing relationships to up-tier SCB's profile with the target client segment. Develop a strong understanding of the industry and client's business, strategies, buying centres, decision-making levels and processes to identify client needs and align internal resources in line with Bank's strategy and risk appetite. Engage and coordinate internal stakeholders (GAMs, Product Partners, FAMs) and leverage the Global PSDO Team to replicate opportunities across regions. Participate in internal initiatives pertaining to business development and represent the Bank at relevant client and industry events. Review and edit pitch materials from product partners and, on a select basis, lead development of new materials for key SC products. Coordinate internal client teams for consistent calling efforts, obtain internal approvals for deals originated by Senior GAMs, and lead calls for negotiation of legal documentation. Provide consistent communication to internal stakeholders, liaise with Middle Office staff to ensure static data is managed appropriately, and prepare documentation for strategy updates to Global PSDO and FI management. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Standard Chartered Bank policy.
REQTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Banking, Economics, Finance, Accounting, International Business or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Supporting business development and client relationship management for a portfolio of major public sector clients including Central Banks, Ministries of Finance, Export Credit Agencies, other government entities and bodies, as well as Multilateral organizations, regional development banks and selected Development Organizations; Conducting credit analysis on public sector financial institutions and development organizations using specialized knowledge of sovereign risk factors and institutional credit frameworks; Interpreting trends and identifying early risks; Drafting and executing bespoke, multi-market, Request for Proposals (RFPs) for international organizations, public sector entities and development organizations, ensuring alignment with the team’s strategic objectives; Negotiating bespoke Financial Markets legal agreements with multilateral organizations, ministries of finance, central banks and other public sector entities; Utilizing internal banking platforms to review and support credit application for institutional and corporate clients, assess and monitor client credit limits and utilization, manage client information and complete financial plans; Conducting complex due diligence and leading Know Your Customer (KYC) renewals of public sector and development organization entities to ensure compliance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) and KYC policies; Navigating regulatory and banking landscapes affecting development organizations in emerging markets. 30% of domestic and international travel required.
SALARY: $148,678 - $165,000/year
HOURS: Full time; Mon – Fri (40 hours per week). EOE.
